First off the organiser gave their best to make this event as safe and as smooth as possible and it was the best organized event I've ever been to - seriously.
It was just a quite a bit unfortunate what happend.
When Karkosik (the pink S15) crashed, one of the concrete barries tipped over, which then in turn tipped over a fence which hit a spectator on it's leg who gained access to an area where he wasn't allowed to be in first place.
According to polish law, every injury which would take more than 7 days to heal out, is considered a "severe injury".
If that would have been the case, the event would have been stopped immediatly and the police would have to document all circumstances of the incident and so on.
Well the delay happened because this guy had to be transported to the hospital to get x-rayed, and everyone had to wait for the verdict. But by the time they announced that his leg wasn't broken, it was already too dark and the track surface had cooled down considerably making it very unsafe for the drivers to push the limits like they we're before.
So the organizers and drivers agreed that it was the best to end it right there,as everything else would have just led to more crashes. I'm not sure how they will decide on the winner, or even if there will be a winner.
Highlights of the day (including the crash that ended the event):
