my matt black 13 possibly for sale. uber cheap!

Of course the idle goes to shit when you open the oil cap when its running. The breather hoses run into the rocker covers god dammit. And when you take the cap off you create a vac leak! haha.

i was thinkin sommit like that but dident wanna sound like a twat if i got it wrong :wack:

i did think they were talking shite! the guy who wanted to buy it hadnt even seen this ad though aparantly a "friend of his" had told him about it, so i guess he was expecting a stage 3, pearlescent painted s13 for £400! not my matt black monster! nevermind, jokes on them, drove down 3 hours with a trailor!

I have never heard of this either but before you dog the guy. Didnt you do the same with both your s13's this one and your new one. This one died on its arse when oil cap or dipstick were removed and your new one's idle didnt change at all. At least tell the whole story.

And when i had Nick Docs 180sx i removed the oil cap numerous times and the idle speed never moved. The breather pipe going into the rocker cover has nothing to do with it, there shouldnt be that much air pressure in there. So yes something is wrong.

And yes he may have spent 12k on a saxo but this might be cause he competes in stock hatch racing. Just cause hes not a drifter doesnt mean hes a twat.

Thanks

did it with both yes.

the for sale one didnt die as you said, it dropped a lot in revs (sounded like it was doing 500rpm approximately. according to the vauxhaul shirt wearing guy, crank oil seal thingy need changing to get this working as it should again.

Joke IS on the guy though...driving 300-odd miles down in a transit with trailer...not having seen any pics, then not buy it because you cant compete with it if you remove the oil filler cap.

its a good running car, and for 400 pounds, you shouldn't expect something amazing quality either. besides, you can pick up working CA engines for 200-300 quid, so even if this does blow, just log on the interweb and there'll be plenty for sale for sod all money.

if it where me, or anyone else in their right mind, if i was spending 400 on a car i wouldnt expect the world, but i'd definately wouldnt drive a 600+ mile round trip to look at a car i havent seen before and possibly wont even buy anyways! i'd look for something local.

I dont think i'd call it a joke to be honest. He travelled down on the sellers word that the engine was ok and didnt need any work doing to it. How does this now become a joke on him if he has been mis-lead. He wanted a car that works not one that needs work. He knew it wasnt a minter but expected it to be as advertised.

Thanks

Dude that thread makes no sense at all

The cam cover is linked to the air intake via the pipe to the elephant's trunk.
If he undoes the oil filler cap, he's introduced a dirty big hole into the air intake, which bypasses the AFM so the ECU goes mad. Sort of :wack:

This one made me laugh. The engine would not start taking in air throu the filler cap instead of the air flow meter, why would u ever want the engine intake to be breathing dirty engine oil vapour.

Cheers

Enough said on this thread, good luck selling the car. The guy who i sent to look at it found it wasnt what he expected and left it at that. Why cant people just leave it at that.

As im sure you all know removing the filler cap on a running car should not cause the idle speed to move at all.

Sorry this thread has become a mess and again good luck selling the car.

Thanks

...but the point is, WHY would you want a fine running engine, WITHOUT an oil filler cap thing?

with all the stuff on, like an engine should be when running:rolleyes:, the engine sounds and runs sweet!

:)

i have a mate thats interested

give initial_j a pm dude:)

well i just wanted to make the point, it was as described. ive had it months, ive even spent a whole day drifting it at lydd without so much as a puff of smoke or even a missfire.
and strangely enough have never tried removing the oil cap with the engine running, why the fook would you want to??? i fail to believe that anything is wrong with the car, i doubted it at the time, ive asked on SXOC and people on there have said he's talking shite so thats why i felt the need to mention it.

as for why it didnt have the same affect on my new 13, maybe it has uprated breathers, or maybe some over reason, i imagine at the worst it could just be blocked breather pipes, the guy who looked at it was trying to make out that the engine was fooked and ready to break.

im not having a go, end of the day if he wasnt happy with it, then thats fair enough. im just fucking sick of the whole selling proccess, anyone whose seen/driven it knows its fine. and me letting it go for £400 is a fooking piss take in it self.

anyone enough said. anyones interested pm me before i start ripping it apart.

hey man if the car is still for sale id be totally interested .... been lookin for a drift project for ages !!!

Where do you think the breathers go then? :wack:

I'm seriously interested, sorry you've had so much bullshit selling buddy.

Are you coming to the next trampdrift event? I'll buy the bloody thing when you've finished drifting it!!!

Saves me driving miles away!

First come first serve I know, but I've been looking for a cheapo drift car for a while now!

Good luck in the meantime.
