Engine & Transmission: 1JZGTE & R154





Base car is a uk spec GS300, it was bought on eBay with no MoT or Tax.. Pasted MoT the next day and began work..

Fitted a set of Altezza HKS HyperMax Pro Coilovers...

Wiring is MENTAL... Removed/Removing all the of ABS, TRC & Airbag wiring.. This would be easy if I had a wiring Pinout diagram and key, doesn't exist for this car so using an IS300 Pinout as thats the closest I can get..
The heater system is controlled digitally through the old ecu.. So I'm going to rewire all the switches with simple on/off, hot/cold, up/down controls utillising the original switch panel..
Brought the original car loom and the engine loom inside the cockpit now so this will be repinned together..

Clutch & Brake Pedals Fitted.. (Altezza Pedals)
Bulk head was modified for the pedals and master cylinders..

Engine Trial Fitted, for the first time of many....

Modifications have been made to many areas of the engine bay to get the engine sitting lower and further back..
SubFrame has been modified for mounts to sit further back..
Sump has been modified to go around the Subframe..
Gearbox Mount has been custom made utilising some of the original Mklll Supra Mount..
And an unusual combination of engine mounts...

Engine out to change Water Pump from HydroFan to Non hydro...
Also- Fitted modified sump.. Fitted pipes etc that are hard to get to once engine is in place.. Rotated Oil Flter Housing.. Nut and bolt check, etc... Its a low mileage, well serviced engine so mainly just a good check over and service..

Fitted custom made Remote Shifter...
Anyone that's done this will know the rear half of the gearbox housing has to be removed, so the gear set was visually inspected with good results, then resealed back together...

Engine back in for the last time...
Soarer Clutch Master Cylinder with HeatShield & HEL Braided Line..
Also Fitted a conventional Brake Servo & Master Cylinder, opposed to the original Brake Accumilator.. Made an entire new brake system with help of Steve at Brake-Lines.co.uk who made all the HEL lines I needed.. Iv got the Black coated braided lines with stainless steel swivel fittings..
Front Brake Lines.. Simply 1 line out the MC to the T piece, then 1 line to each Front Caliper..

Made a Mount for the Hydro HandBrake...
Nuts welded to the underside for easy fitting..

Converted original foot operated Parking Brake to a conventional Handbrake mechanism, another Altezza part modified, using a Soarer cable...

Radiator, InterCooler, PAS Cooler...
Using an R32 fitment Alu Radiator as its narrower and gives me room to get intercooler pipework through easier, Iv got the intercooler upside down and modified the pipes to come out the sides and face the engine, to keep the pipes short, less joins, less chance of getting damaged..
Got an Earls cooler for the Power Steering fluid..
Desperately need an Oil Cooler and relocation kit but can't afford one
Got a pair of Pacet Fans on the back of the whole shebang..

Intercooler is almost finished being mounted, started raining and got dark before I could finish it off..




Chassis-


HKS HyperMax Pro Coilovers.. For SXE10.. These are Similar fitment as the JZS but they are approx 5" shorter than the standard struts when both are under load.. So iv achieved the drop I want and retained the adjustment and preload settings on the Coilovers.


Hub Assembly-
SXE10 Front Hub Conversion, these add 8mm Caster (at centre of hub)
Modified Hub Upright, To correct angle of the upper Wishbone & add Negitive Camber
NinjaPower Super Angle Knuckles
NinjaPower Lock Spacers
NinjaPower 35mm Roll Centre Adapter Kit (RCA's)
Custom Track Rod Ends
SuperPro Front Lower Arm Bushes

Planning on getting this running in the next few days... Being held up by lack of funds and not enough hours in the day... More updates coming soon:thumbs:
 
Thanks dudes.. It's the car iv been wanting to build for a while.. Just trying/having to do everything on a tight budget without cutting corners..
The standard power is more than enough, just need to get it running.. Need a few bits of pipe, the fluids, downpipe gasket, do the wiring and last bits of plumbing, weld the diff, then she's ready to fire up..
Planning on skidding Lydden this Saturday so got my work cut out.. And need money if anyone wants to 'sponsor' me a few hundred squid or buy my spare parts? Lol

And I do have a spare from a 2j, though I'm very reluctant to sell it as mine is a bit ropey..
Lol... The purple thing is a bracket for the pas pump.. It's actually the front casing of the old aircon pump powdercoated..

Done a shit tone of bits and bobs that arnt seen, like plumbing and conecting shit up... And I'm slack at taking pictures as my hands have been to dirty to put into pocket to take phone out for pictures.. Really havnt had time either..


Have fitted Rear Brake Lines..

The lower ball joint/Steering Knuckle is the first one I cut, shortened and welded.. Just an old knackered ball joint I used as a tester..
Taken an extra 5mm out the latest ones so should get more lock than pictured above.. Trying to workout if there's a point where they are too short..
 

Should of moved the Delica and put the Chaser where Kay's Datsun is. Then this picture would be on the wall. Thinking of getting Nick up to do a group shoot with this,when its black, my 147, the African's '81 and Steve's '90. We're going to call it 'The Darkness Brothers', could be good.

When you list it all up like this you really have done some work to this thing haven't you? Good work dude, I know I say it most days but I really am impressed. Get that lanky Srilankan to sort the wiring and she'll be sideways before you know it.:thumbs:
 
Bloody hell mush you've made some good progress. You and wires man lol make sure it actually starts at the end. What are you doing with 1J or stock for now?

I'll come down and say hello soon, I am nearing drift world, oh so close ;-)
