Nissan Laurel C32

Cool - almost identical to my old daily!

Looks like an auto though(?) which is a bit of a fail as they are a lot livelier with a manual gearbox. Manual boxes for these are sought after as they are a 5-speed, but a 4-speed box from an earlier 6 pot datsun would fit.

I have another C32 now which is a 2.4SGX on an E-plate, that has independent rear suspension, the old one was a 2.4 SGL on a D-plate which had a live axle like yours. The independent rear suspension models are basically the same as an R31 Skyline, and only need a hole re-drilling to fit coilovers. From memory, the set-up you have is trailing arms, telescopic shocks and seperate springs that are about 4 inch internal diameter - that should be easy enough to uprate if you didn't want to change to a subframe set-up.

On the front end, S13 hubs will allow you to fit S13 coilovers and adjustable top mounts - the only problem is the steering knuckle is thicker on the S13 hub, so you will need to source some track rod ends that fit the C32 rack & have longer male threads to do it safely. The tie-rods on the C32 are not adjustable, but could be modified to be adjusted to add more castor if you wanted to.

Sweet ride, hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed mine.

Hi mate, yes S13 knuckles fit the stock C32 arm/ ball joint. Think I used R32 inner/ outer tie rods (Can't remember as they came with it) and S13 coilovers.
