The scary thing is, I really believe you did this. "Suicide by airbag".

Phil, dont let Matt near your electrics, Ive seen what he did to the Onevia. ;)

Right I've sent an e-mail to my boys enquiring about the saftey 21 8 point with door bars, I've also asked how much cheaper it would be for 3 (James and Mat ;) :D)

yeah man. hes a nice guy innit james :D he didnt even ask me to put on those bright orange decals or anything

when si had the 2 accidents in 3 days in the 14, the air bags never went off, which is a tad bit worrying....

as for stripping the car out it does make it really loud as your daily drive....
with the red one, si stripped out all the padding and black stuff off the floor etc.... then put the carpet back in ..... made it alot easier to live with..

What sort of speeds were they as I heard something about airbags not deloping at above certain speeds??

Oi bitch! thats a top secret nissan method, I didn't tell you that so you could blurt it out on the net! haha! worst of all afterwards you didn't even put it face down and connect it to a battery! (although for best results stack 2 ontop of each other:)

Removal of unrequired interior items is a definate must. I'm surprised it hasn't made Uncle Pazza's Recommended Drifty Mods thread. Better than more power IMO. Makes a huge difference, especially on a car that's light already.

All my AE86's have always been run with no rear interior and the first thing done to this silver one was a complete strip. That's the bonus of the early gupta interiors; they're so bad you may as well bin 'em and save some weight.

Getting the asphalt sheeting out is a major pain in the arse, especially on a 20 year old Corolla. Should be a little easier on a comparatively fresh S14. Try and peel off as much as possible in one lump since removing the little spots with petrol/degreaser and a brillo pad/scraper is a tedious task that takes forever.

The yellow goo is seam sealer and yes, if you strip it, water/grit will get between the sheet metals and turn your Nissan into a Corolla.

A crate of pikey £1.99 primer and matt black spray cans now completely adorns my interior shell, including roof and door inners and it looks the bollocks. It's also non-reflective and not so obviously stripped-out to a passer-by.

Just go get a Lotus-Sport tuned special super lightweight noise deadening system (earplugs) and you won't even notice the volume increase.

I stripped out my FD whilst having the plastic bits resprayed - also had the passenger seat taken out and it made fantastic driving !!

Was definantly alot louder!! Although after putting in my newly resprayed interior I do kinda miss the noisey black empty cabin!!

I think I'll probably pull the lot out again when I go drifting!!

Intresting about the carbon door cards being so leathal when split!
Definatly put me off the CF interior! Can you imagine that CF EVO in Japan as nearly the whole thing is CF!! Ouch!!

Ha haa LOL.. cheers!! :D

Well it's a car to be driven really... and it seems a waste to have a car just for show and no go.

Flicking through Option and such, and watching the vids really makes me want to go out and have a thrash around the track... don't get me wrong I'm not gonna go mental and last thing I want to do is wreck it!! A fine line between pushing it and losing it...
