Recovery Truck Questions

that one on shaans is gonna be a rohill body or something not a million miles away.

on my old transit I put the winch under the bed then had the fair head ontop meaning I could winch right upto the cab without ramming the cars bumper into the winch.

for 2.5K id say you can do better than an old mk4/mk5 transit. id base my options on bed angle and condition as from what ive seen some trucks get worked to death. then watch out for dodgy home made beds.

id appreciate that tim, who's bags do you recommend? I think mine has been overloaded a fair few times as you can see where the top of the tyres have rubbed on the bed.

I fitted the bags today, Mtt systems supply them they come over from Poland. Rubena airbags and all the fittings are quality. I used the same on my renault too.

Also saves carrying the 50 kg around all the time when it's only needed every now and again.it connects the power with Anderson plugs to make it very easy to power up.

nice idea on the winch, you are gonna get hench lugging that around!.

reading the blurb on the air suspension it says,
"Air suspension kit can be inflated with a standard tyre pump or with onboard control system which we can offer for additional cost" is that what you got to allow you to raise it up and down? how much extra is the special pump? as it don't say on any listing?
sorry about the million questions man!.

Ask away I was dubious before I bought my first kit.
I use an £8 12v plug in air compressor takes about two min to fill. I generally leave a bit if air in as the ride is so much smoother with the bags on. Pm me if interested as I can get them cheaper as I've done a deal with the company selling them.

This is always my favorite method

I've seen a guy from the car club put his special on a tipper. He tips the bed at pretty steep angle and then simply accelerates to get up there. It's great fun to watch. If you blink you can miss it. As for vans in general, I've driven a Transit Tipper mainly, plus few other vans and they are all shit. I rather have a Berlingo or something similar.

truck air bags cost a fortune new.

whats the payload of a tipper? I always thought it was measly like 800kg so if you tried to put a regular car on by tipping the bed your gonna end up damaging the ram. plus the tipping mechanisms weight will lessen the payload.you want a minimum of a 15 foot bed for carrying cars and most tippers ive seen are like 13 foot.
