SAT DWYB @ Pod - Beginner's and Advanced Drift day 24th Oct

Big thanks to everyone for coming along to support DWYB in the rain

Just got back after calling at the pub. Was my first drift day and I will definatly be going back on the 11th I had the best day ever especialy lex taking me out on the big track driving my car it was awsome. Hope sum1 got sum pics of me I was in the red r32

Sweet car and bargain dude

Perhaps down to the complete lack of grip out there on the circuit. I would say 80% of the people I saw who went out on the EDC track had a couple of spins (Including the good ones). I personally prefer doing the track in the dry as it was my first DWYB in the wet.

People spinning is all about learning and with the conditions of today i'd say it was a miracle that there were no incidents at all.

Cheers DWYB team for a good day.

Yup i spun out plenty of times yesterday and i really encourage people to have a go ont the EDC track only way peope ewill improve is if they push themselves to drive outside of their comfort zone

as long as they do so safely i dont see any issues with people having a go - im sure eveyone will agree they still got loads and loads of quality seat time

who writes the tags ?

Interweb drift geeks :wack:

i think people were spinning because it was like an ice ring.the beginner track was covered in oil aswell

Yup - spotted the oil can people please ensure they dont leak oil :smash:

The only word i have have is 'rain'!!
Still great fun tho and alot easyier for us 130bhp toy cars...
Thanks again everyone

hi guys

i was out in my new car the black ps13 with arches and wide wheels

thanks lex :) wish we could have had another go, thats my second practice day, so hoping to get a bit better at not spinning :smash:

even with 45 psi it still bogged going into 3rd and i kicked it hard..

unfortunatly i was only running 0.25 bar of boost and it was dropping after initial spool up ..and i had a nice misfire below 3k rpm .. so ran a bit like an NA car .. hoping to have i sorted for the next day out...

the day was savage loved every moment .. i spent the whole day on the EDC track an loved it .. if i could up load the vids ive got id post em up but they are in HD and upside down atm .. ill try at some point ..

going to save some cash and try make the next one :)

found it was number 2 coil pack on its way out. drove most the way home with a missfire coming and going :(

just found a replacement on ebay for £15 so il get that 2moro :)

thanks again to everyone that helped me get the hang of it. still alot of work to do on the techique though, but luckily i have a huge car park where i work and its perfectly fine to have a practice on a week end

just need to get that handbrake sorted

mate DONT change 1 change the set for some uprated one's

or you will be doing the same again very soon and shove a set of new plug's in too

Cheers dude! Was a very cool day!! Your marshalling was top notch as usual!! Jamie managed to piece back my bumper at the end of the day and was good to go! Only to find his car wouldn't start lol :wack::euge:
See you again soon!!

you saved that bumper????????????????????????????????????? skillls!

Yup. I had a good day. Even got out onto the big track. MUCH easier to drift with a little speed.
I was surprised to find that I was constantly slowing down for traffic... But then again, I spun out as often as anyone.
Next time, less speed, more care... and concentrate on less understeer / less spin.

Damn though, the fast section was fun...

Correct you are mug for not reading the 1st page of this and every DWYB thread :smash:

We can only learn from our mistakes

For example I learned that the kerb dragon really is an evil bastard and that S1 really is not worth it :o
