SAT DWYB @ Pod - Beginner's and Advanced Drift day 24th Oct

Right I have managed to get a 'day pass' from the mrs to come along to this lol :) so if the weather is good, ie not pissing it down I WILL be there. Heck I need some practice :) and where better?

For those that do not know me, I will be the nutter in the hat.

Lex, yhpm ;)

cant wait for this. im taking 4 alloys with brand new tyres on and another set if i can fit them in the car :D is anyone going down from West Yorkshire?

If he uses them all up he'll be able to get some fitted from MINT tyres. But have to agree with hug-lo that 4 is nowhere near enough, especially as you're coming down from Yorkshire.

really? more than that? i have 4 near enough brand new tyres aswell. :) can you tell im new to this?

or i was thinking maybe get more tyres fro my mates garage fill the back of my transit with them, then stick the skyline on a trailor and bring it down. will just be a long ass trip in the van :(

how many are you guys taking?

I normally take 8 mate, as that's all I can fit in the Liner. If I could I'd take more. But as said before MINT tyres are usually there to help you out if needed.

that sounds like a good plan, there is more than enough space for tyres, tools, food, etc. plus if it goes pop you can still get home no worries.

a always trailer mine to drift days, wouldnt dream of not doing it. but then again i have my own trailer so its free.

Booked in on this. I fancy a go on the EDC track this time, I think my skillz are about good enough now but I dont wanna get in any experienced guys way.

Do you do noob slots ??? so we can spin and spaz about without fooking anyone off ?

I'll try and make this, been a few weeks since I done a drift day. Wonder what the weather will be like?

You will be fine mate, you wont get in anyones way as long as you are aware of everyone around you and get out the way when you spin off etc.

us noobs need helmets too?

had a go in mine last night at the old post office cruise, which is a local legal cruise up by me and found it hard to do anything at all as its still using the standard diff!! oops.

luckily im breaking another r32 so ive got a spare diff so im going to whip that off later today and get it welded :)

+ dont think il get all those tyres in my car so im hiring a trailor for the week end and towing it down with my transit. bit more space in there :D

As per the 1st post

How many tyres do i need ?

Lots - rule of thumb is as many as you can fit in car as there is nothing worse than being at drift day with a working car, empty track and no tyres

So what i mean by that is bring as many as you can fit in the car - If you do run out MINT TYRES - Tyre Ninjas will save the day :worthy:

Just ask the marshall on EDC track usually SECDrift - since everyone gets so much seat time we dont mind letting you out for a few laps on your own to get the feel of things

Helmets recommended for DWYB advanced track only - not needed for playpens or kidney

Helmets need to be worn on big track only

Cheers blud
