Seriously considering selling my new FD…

don't these need a rebuild every 60k?

Not entirely true. The water seals and rotor tips are service items which is a 60,000 mile service. Just most people decide to have the rest rebuilt when it's apart as there isn't a lot more to do. The rotors and housings dont get changed unless there has been a tip failure and it's scorn the housings. Usually the rotors stay original.

There are a few that have done 90000miles and still going strong, one in the US that’s done over 100,000 miles. It just depends on how it's been looked after in the past.

So an ex-jap drift car really should have had one at 60k then?

Probably wasn't a drift car.
Was probably a propper wangan street racer.
Any RX7 in the UK you buy, you will have to think about having the rotor tips and water seals done. It's just something you accept when buying an RX7. This car has obviously had a funky lump in her and was taken out b4 it left japan.

If its had a recon lump then it will have had the tips done also.

yup, and that's my question. Have the rotor tips been done, are there receipts to prove the work? Has it had the pumps replaced?

Drift car or Wangan racer, it's still been pushed hard......who wouldn't?

Basically, a full rebuild on one of these is normally priced at 2 - 3k, and most that are being sold are sold with 3-5k miles after full rebuild with receipts to prove.

I don't fancy buying a 6.5k FD, then have to pay for a rebuild in another 5-10k miles of use.

Yeah I'm in agreement with Guishnu over this, it was probably a wangan street racer with a mental engine that had been swapped.

I have the auction sheet but not a translated version, it said overhauled engine but didnt say when.

Bare in mind that most rotary tuners Warranty isn't worth the paper it's writted on, there non transferable between owners, wont cover a modified engine, wont cover racing, grip, drag or drift, wont cover detonation, boost creep bla bla bla.

This happened to me with my last one. I wasnt a happy bunny that after 4k miles on a rebuilt engine by rx-heaven it went and I had a 3.5k repair bill

I love the wheels dude. Can you tell who ever buys i'll offer a good price for the wheels, they'd look sex on my R32

Cheers mate, unmarked work cr kai. They are 17 x 9 so would look too small under your arches unless you go for big spacers.

did you not get ur money back from them pikeys at rx heaven?

dunno, my car 17's already and they look ok. I get free tyres in 17' too.

do you know what offset they are?

No but I can check, they will be off this weekend for a clean (fancy coming over and helping) :wack:

Never got my money back from them, but I am going to court soon to read a statement against them over another person they ripped off. They will get what they deserve.

:D

So what your saying is that your not interested in his car!

Shame your thinking of seeling it mate, so soon after getting it as well. :(

I hope it goes well and you get the price you want for it. They'll always be a place for you on the BLACk knights... as long as its a jap car :)
