The best engine for drifting

thanks you all for good advices :)

Ls1 is gods gift to motoring. I'd like to swap in new hemi and take out my RB cuz I haven't seen it yet...

yes ls1 is great one but in my countru it's too expensive to swap this engine :)

p.s somebody tell me how much hp can i take from sr20det with stock internals??:D
and what engin is better to swap in e30 about 5-6k?(thats why i open these thread):p:smokin:
thanks you all one more time :)

How much will it cost you to grab a solid, reliable 400hp from an SR? It might be reliable at 400hp, but it probably won't be without a build and careful maintenance. The best thing about LS motors is you can run them on shit and treacle and they will still run for a trillion miles with basic mods and still make very good power and stupendous amounts of torque. At any revs.

For 8k over here you can have the whole LS1 conversion done for you, drive in drive out. All you need is a cam and a tune and that's 400whp comfortably. It'll be even less if you did it yourself. The only difference between an LS swap and building an SR is that you don't tend to get the massive wallet hit in one strike with the SR... but you still end up spending the same amount of money one way or another. Or more even.

I see exactly why people do it. Yeah, it may be an engine running on pretty old tech - but that's sort of the point. Because it's old tech it definitely works and there is so little to go wrong (and it's so cheap to fix when it does) that it's as brilliant an idea as it is daft all at the same time.

maybe a tad heavy

Best engine Ive driven recently is a 2UR in a Lexus IS-F, although the characteristic of the engine in an 997C2S would be awesome too.

Whatever engine you go for you will need at least exactly 1023.563 horse powers.

Or the wheels will only turn and not drift.

Can you actually drift as this is a helpfull start. You could have the best drift car in the world but if you dont know how to use it then........your fucked!!

Basically, just because you might look the part doesnt mean you will be amazing
