The Dream - JZX100 Mark II Tourer V

Its been a little while..

Bought 2 sets of Defi gauges with white faces as one one wants to ever split up the sets.
I've now got a centre gauge which replaces the wing vents with water temp, oil temp and oil pressure.

I've painted the plastic cover black as the old one was blue which I wasn't a fan of. I've also added some glitter so it which I think looks alright, however I may change this again and just go matt black.

Ordered the 3 gauge holder, weld cover and a new boot seal via Jesse Streeter (always smooth ordering from him!)
I did however order blue on a bit of a whim if I'll like it and to be honest I'm not a fan, so I'm going to paint it silver or polish it up.

This is how the engine bay looks right now..

Don't know about anyone else but I spend a good amount of time on Facebook Market place endlessly looking for random crap and sometimes the good things pop up..

These SSR Minevra's popped up super cheap and I had to buy them no questions asked!

From memory they're 18 x 9.5 ET 25 with a 3.5" lip.

The faces aren't too bad but they're silver, but soon to be polished up.

I've not long bought another pair from Joan (Jo34200) on Instagram and they should be here soon!

Test fitted them with a small spacer but I need to run a little more camber for it to work. I'll adjust camber once I've built the wheels.

Ordered a set of floor mats from Japanizedautoparts on Instagram which are the ones pictured to tind up the inside a little.
(not my car)

Yesterday 15/5/21 I dropped the car off to Garage D where its getting a Kaaz 2 way super Q which I'm looking forward to.

Its also getting a small oil leak fixed which I believe could be front main seal but not 100% on it.

(There is some rather nice cars there to say the least).

Wow this has been a while!

In no real order because I can't remember the order..

I've wanted some form of roof spoiler for a while now, I've had them on other cars I've owned and I think they're a nice touch.
Everyone I've seen has been some origin or d max style which is nice but me being me, I wanted something a bit nicer then that..
So I bought a rare AF Mark II OEM Toyota one for a pretty penny too but I think its the best one you can buy!

Kind of surprised it hasn't flown off yet but we're all good!

Got some floor mats made from a guy in Poland - I'm pretty sure I linked his profile above, if not I'll add it to the post.

Got the full set including the one that goes over the trans tunnel in the back. Really nicely made these.

Really need to get some form of kit on this as it looks high AF from the back.

Car went back to Garage D as after I had the Kaaz 2 way installed, it was making some horrible noises from the back end, almost like the rear end wanted to come off. Been in 2 cars with the same diff and both wasn't nearly as bad as the noises mine was making.

Garage D readjusted the diff from 100% to 65% IIRC.

Bought some WELD diff inserts also (I have TRD diff bushings)

The plan is to get the whole car's bushes replaced with Strongflex ones at some stage!

Just before I was due to put the car away for the winter time, the clutch didn't want to be a clutch anymore :(

No problem because I was planning on changing it as I want a little more power soon.

I replaced it with a ORC 559 (I think) - Got this imported from Andrew Joyce

Very nice flywheel and clutch kit to say the least!

Put in a superpro gearbox insert

Fitted an oil cooler the other day as 1JZ's temps can be a little hot after some fun driving.

Need to smarted up the fittings a little bit but I'm happy with it so far! Temps are good!

I also picked up some rep ganadors from Aero 23

Was pretty happy for them when I ordered them, however when they arrived I wasn't so sure when I compared them to the real deal.
They was sold to me as only needing minor sanding work etc but in truth they needed some profile building up on some of the edges, for me at least it wasn't worth the hassle so I sold them. I'll buy some real ones in the end.

I got another pair of SSR Minerva's from Poland which along with my other pair have been sat in the garage looking sorry for themselves, I finally got them all sorted with getting new lips and getting the faces polished. For me, they're one of the best wheels and with the price they are going for now - I got them at a good deal!

I haven't mounted them just yet as the weather isn't the greatest but I cannot wait to get them on!

Next thing to do is get the front main seal replaced as I never got it done when I was at Garage D.
Then some power stuff!

Going down the route of hybrid turbo from Kuruma Factory ( need to order ). This along with a few other things should see me around the 400bhp mark which I'd be happy with for now at least.

I do plan on running stock manifold with a wastegate welded onto it. I've seen this done in AUS and Japan, so it must be alright.

I have a J pipe which I've installed already, real main seal and other stuff was installed when I done the clutch and flywheel.
Picked up a Power FC from a guy in a JZX chat I'm in for a good price. Old tech but it works.
Turbosmart hyper gate 45
355 fuel pump

this is currently how things look in the engine bay

Few tweaks here and there needed to tidy it up a little.

(photos are sized for Instagram).

Changed the spring rates on the car to 18K front 14K rear. To be honest, I'm tempted to knock it up slightly again soon.

Paul from Arch enemy rolled the rear arches on Saturday, done a really good job. Paint cracked in a few places but sealed it up with sealer so you shouldn't see it anyways.

With the help of my friend Dan and Alf, I put the SSR Minerva's on after Paul had left. Set the correct pre load on the coilovers and lowered it a little bit. Happy with it sits and rides however I'm going to lower it ever so slightly more.

Need to get my uprights cut 25mm, although the Cusco camber arm doesn't touch now, its really not far off at all.

Spring rates for these things need to start with a 2 in the fronts… also you’re upping the spring rates on the original coilovers? I am pretty sure the valving would need to be done in order to get the most out of it… and if that’s the case a new set would do you better.

These are on HKS Hyper max IV GT or something along those lines.
Valving will be out in sure because stock they come with 10k 8k
Rides nice but I plan on going 20k up front soon. will replace the coilovers at some stage for BC but that’s something I’ll do when the coilovers give up a bit.

Fair enough… 10/8 is definitely soft for these yachts. I recently upgraded my coilover setup, and I’m going to be running 24/14.

I can’t wait to throw them on when they arrive.
