top speed on s13

Norris got 200.3mph at Brunters with his 730bhp engine in the Evo.
Same day Norris/Richie got high 180s (186 IIRC) in the S13 with 614bhp. 8800rpm rev limit and a long ratio OSG gearbox that was good for 200+. Not 100% sure, but think it was slightly too long geared for Brunters and its power, but not by much, but could've got closer to 200 with that power if it was genuine.
Late summer 2004 I think.

Cant remember for sure, but think that was the first day I was there timing cars.

The OSG box had a standard 5th gear ratio and the diff was also standard, it was the revs the engine did that gave it its top speed, not different gearing. Any S13 that can rev to 9500rpm in top can break 200mph, easy.

I've hit my 7500 limiter and with 225/45/17 tyres Ive worked out with a gearing calculator to be 173mph. Dont know how accurate that is (seems a bit much) but I know the needle was on the stop for a looong time.
