the driving factor for me alex is cash ie the lack of it!! i could probably afford to blow 5 7ags for the cost of GZE / 5AG / turbo,
dont worry iv already located late AE92 pistons (20mm wrist pin) and injectors (230cc),0.8 head gasket ajustable cam gears and a porsch 924 belt
so it wont be alll bad.........i hope.......

H7ERO: I have found a 7AFE at work, but im affraid that only the top end is usable, due to the main bearings have spun in the block, knackering the crank at the same time! Sorry dude! I'll keep my eyes open!

My mum has got a Corolla 1.8 GXI with the 7AFE in it, i wonder if she would notice if i robb her engine?? haha!

Worth a try, I know someone else that was doing it but never found out how it went. If you got the parts then why not, nothing to lose.
I would be interested to see the results.
I not sure if its just the flywheel bolts as I think ARPs would sort that I think its the crank in general.
The latter 4age and 4agze bottom ends are shit hot really, the high power cossy boys etc would love to have that same sort of spec standard

yeah thats why im gonna give it a go in so many other areas of car tuning eg ford ect they make do with much lower spec engines and they still go i know 7afe is weaker mainly due to longer rods and thinner crank (it has only 6 flywheel bolts which what i was refering to)

but it still was built with a safety factor! so im sure it will be ok

you got to love engineers for putting in a safty factor!
