Weds DWYB @ Pod - Beginner's and Advanced Drift day 19th Aug

Another excellent day Lex. Good news about potholes. Any chance of another intermediate track? I've mastered the play pens but not good enough for the EDC track. We spent quite alot of time queueing and then only got 4 laps! Other than that, top day. Thanx to all the marshalls.

Due to the space its unlikely to happen - im trying to ensure there is a enough playpens for newbs and a good enough track to keep those with more seat time challenged. The flip side is that the 'inters' who used to have it really, really good with 2 x Kidneys loose out a bit

What id suggest is having a go at the EDC track

You dont have to link the whole track on your 1st go and if you spin out and kill all the cones - not to worry just help me get them back in place :nod:

Just grip the parts you may struggle with like the 3rd gear flick past the tyre hut and have a go at drifting the bits you can manage :thumbs:

You will have spotted the EDC track was near empty for much of the day so there is no issue with stopping the twinning for a few laps so you can have a go at your own pace

The only way people will improve is if they get out if their comfort zone and challenge themselves to try harder stuff. Not drugs, Hard Drugs and Streeto are bad mkay :D
 
Just to repeat what has already been said...an excellent day ! I have never seen it so busy. If the owner could also arrange for the weather to be like that more often that would be the icing :smash:

I'm hoping to have a gamble on the EDC track next time, perhaps I'll fit an extinguisher first after having seen what happened to Tony's '86 :( as you say its all about pushing yourself and getting out of your comfort zone a bit.

Also, I must highly recommend the Tex Mex burgers :thumbs:
 
Had a fantastic day! Met some top people! Mainly DWYB marshalls and were all very friendly and polite with nothing but positive words!
Many thanks to the guys that i borrowed wood chucks off of during the day :D Really appreciate it!! Sorry for my stupidity of leaving my own at home before leaving :D
Didn't go on the top track for long but i can safely say its pretty savage from the corner from where you join to all the way back round :D
Also want to say what a great job the tyre guys were doing all day! It must have been horrid in that van, changing tyres constantly in the heat ;)
Very glad to hear the surface will be improved!! That was the only factor i found that was hindering an even better time had on the new track :)
Will be there on the 16th of Sept!!

Hiya mate, i did briefly say hello :D I don't think you recognised me in my new car hehe. I was in the black r33 that went on top track breifly later on in the day. Didnt do too well as the tyre only lasted like one lap hehe :wack:
I will be attending the 16th :) So i will make a better effort to say hellooooo :thumbs:
 
Quality news about the potholes, one of them smashed my bumper and sidelight at the last one :(

And yea, the S bends after the huge corner on the EDC track are good to skid on your first few laps of the EDC track! Should definately give it a go if there's a big queue for the kidney! :thumbs:
