Anyone drifted a TVR yet?

Andy- I wish, but who in their right mind would lend us a Cerbera! Lol

GMaster- They did.
Cerberas are their own V8s, PROPER V8s, hence why they powerful, unlike the gay Rover shite thats in Griffiths Chimeras etc

Cerbera you mean. Chimera was Rover gayness.

rover v8 are not gay in in tvr ive work on loads and go side ways with no probs

Perhaps I just wanted there to be no tvr v8, I am a rover bummer :euge: :D

AJP... I did know that though... Oh well...

I had a Tuscan, and I found it to be a hideous peice of unreliable, annoying, beautiful peice of shit.
It had poor handling, braking and acceleration. Lock was comical!! i think youd have to mod a lot to get it any good.
Chicks liked it though.

It had poor ....acceleration.

I think there's something about the 4.0s 0-60 and the 180mph top speed, plus your wild contradiction, that makes me lose confidence in your opinion.

I thought the ones with the Rover engines were the good ones?! I knew a guy who fixes a lot of TVRs as his garage was popular with the TVR forums and he said the TVR engines were a copy of the rover ones anyhow but slightly changed to not infringe copyright. The oil jackets (think thats what its called?) were re-designed or something but it turned out to be a weakness and he reckoned %70 of the people he knew with them had needed a rebuild. He said the Rover V8 ones were much more reliable. He'd had the newer car with the TVR engine and ditched it for the older one with the Rover engine again.
Must admit I really like the idea of a 'British flag waver'.

I'd rather have an RX7 with an LSX in it ..

what is that?

my step dad has had a bunch on TVRs.. he spunks so much money on them modding them. The Griff was pretty lush but short as and the TuscanR he had.. Fuck me that thing was fast. Had the chassis re-powder coated.. nitron suspension.. custom bonnet that you could actually open.. ceramic coated everything.. the acceleration was like being punched in the chest by satan

By 'LSX' he means either LS1 or LS2 engines, both V8s. I thing the LS2 is in the Monaro isnt it? :)

Griffith 500. Brutal :smokin:

Driven a Chimera, thought it was shit and difficult to control, really disappointed. Although it was on skinny rear tyres so... Seen a million of the TVR engined cars blown up/overheated/etc at WRC in Silverstone.

I dunno, the idea is fantastic, and a 4.5 Cerbera is MENTALLY fast, and I want one bad, but I don't think it'd ever really make sense.

Griffith 500, a bit gay. My old Cossie used to rip the shit out of them in a straight line.

Cerbaras rock, rest are Rover engine faggotry, in a "oooh i got a car with a big V8 thats nowhere near as fast as something so light and big capacity should be" way.

there are cars in EDC that make less sense :p

a sumo cerbera with a good pilot would be awesome. just don't paint it pink

but I don't think it'd ever really make sense.

and a 550hp+ 4 door bright orange toyota does :wack:

I want a Sagaris, its one of 3 cars I want to compete in, but depends how rich I become

If I remain poor, ill stick with the s14

if I become rich ill get the tvr

If I become really rich ill get a viper and if I become mega rich ill get a db9 :smash:

Hideous is a general term for how it drives and the feeling it gives you from prolonged use, and beautiful desribes how it looks.
Sorry for confusion.

Don't worry Ross, MJG is confused easily. Plus he thinks he's god at the moment so is even more mouthy than usual on here ;)

I've driven plenty at various pistonheads days I've run, probably the worst of everthing for a base car, engine too far back so they spin lots, no steering lock, timebomb under the bonnet, chassis made of cheese, poor cooling systems, oh but they make a great noise so that,d be cool.

id stick a 2jz in one to start with, move it forward, modify the geo and lock and it would probably work a treat. Would love one to play with they are super cool.

my mate has a 4.2 cerbera in yellow with black 18's and until recently a decatted, no boxes straight piped exhaust system, (the 8th wonder of the world - everyone should stand 10 feet behind one of these when the owner does a full throttle launch).

and he was saying he doesnt know why people don't use them for drifting, people say they're scary/twitchy/snappy but he says its never snapped on him, with it having a long ass wheel base and i think he's fitted wider rear tyres. i've tried to talk him into doing some drifting but he says it doesn't really interest him. And as said above, it would seem they have crappy steering lock.

however, it goes about 3k miles before another major problem manifests itself, it needs constant remapping and he broke a drive shaft the other day. Out of all the cars tvr could have used for driveshafts, they chose a lotus carlton! that was fun trying to find a replacement!
