BMW E90 Drift build | On its own wheels

I continue with the monologue. :)
Have now fitted all the belt connectors and the tubes for the shoulder straps in the main hoop.

Cut out some new windows out of polycarbonate.

Got my twin-plate 230mm clutch from Xtreme Clutch.
It is oversized, but it feels good not have to think about any clutch issues in the future.
This is specified to 1800Nm and is made for 135i / 335i so I will need to use another starter motor and shim it to get it perfect aligned.

2018-09-10-08-12-20_img_1220.jpg

Looking great, atleast that clutch will hold no matter what!
I guess you dont need extra reinforcement plates with nuts for the seatbelts as in Finnish rules?

Yeah it better hold up :D

There is reinforcement plates under the floor.
The rules says minimum 40cm2 for each plate. :)

Got a great deal on a set of BC Racing ZR Coilovers by the local dealer J-Spec so I replaced the KW V3.
There was a minor fail from my part, I will have to swap the top mounts to wisefabs instead of the BC Racing to optimize the geometry.

I bought a M3-Style front bumper for LCI.
I will probably have to modify the hood slightly to make it look good with the pre-LCI grill. :)

Modified the door hinges so that the doors are quick and easy to remove.
I also fitted all the plastic windows and made them removable as well.

My thought was to use M-Sport rear bumper and sideskirts but after some thinking I wanted to try to cut a non m-sport to see how it looked.
Unfortunately I had already sold my bumper I while ago but I managed to get a used one in the same colour.
I like the look of a baboon ass in the rear of the car as we call it here.
The protection bar behind it will be removed and replaced with tubes instead.

I pulled out the trunk and found the angle grinder to cut some metal away.
Cut all double sheet metal and a small hole for the future if I decide to move the radiator to the trunk instead.

Wisefab, who have manufactured the angle kit specify that the front subframe should be 8cm from the ground but on the picture the measure is 12,5cm so I don't know how to lower it more if it should be drivable.

Got my Optima YT Battery home.
Not the lightest of batteries but well tested and feels good to have some power for the servo and fans.
Built a small batterybox and a small rack for catchtank, battery and servo pump.

I now have rebuilt the batterybox and will fabricate my own catchtank due to lack of space between the servo and the catchtank.

Nice Job!
Great information from You regarding building E90.
Just bought 335i myself and will be building for drift, but no so in pro level as You have done job here.
I purchased it from USA after accident, Yesterday we managed to put everything together so we can start up engine and it work really fine.
It already have some upgrade, what I could currenly see: KW Coiles, different Turbos (will check later on what kind), MM performance Chargepie Upgrade, custome made stainless steel Down-Pipe Back Exhaust System, aFe Power Air Intake, some kind perfomence Brake discs, I guess main block also is not stock or is upgraded software. Still in progress to get it ready to drive and test on dynamic what power it has.

after that will start upgrading for drift.

Thanks man!
Yours look like very good project to start with. :)
There is a lot of adjustability for the rear suspension so you will get proper grip with it.

I have removed the fuel sender and replaced the original fuel pressure regulator with a plug.

Drove away to pick up a spare block for when it might explode some time.

2018-11-12-11-58-27_img_1342.jpg

I also found a spare diff with another gear ratio (3,08) for an easy swap at the track.

Oh wow that’s an insane build man! Very interesting and the first e90 drift build I’ve seen tbh

Just trying my best with the little knowledge and tools I have. :)

I sold the M3-style bumper and found a scrappy OEM M-sport pre-lci instead and ordered a lip from Schmiedmann.
My guess is that it will look better when it comes down on the ground.
I have also got my fender flares done and waiting for them the arrive in Sweden. :)

Will look great, I think!
Where did You ordered Flares (are those made for E90 or as most of them universal) - I am currently also looking for them

About front bumper, as I have M-sport, I will only upgrade front lip, as in photo, It will give more aggressive look.

In end of month I also will start modification, and will try to upload some photos here as well (it took me 2 months to get certification for registration in Latvia, as car was imported from USA)

I hope so too.
They are made by a contact in Southern Europe after my specifications.
I can sell them to you if you want a set.

About the front lip I think it's all about the taste.
I would have chosen this type instead: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/362445252045

Sounds great man, I am actually preparing mine for painting at the moment. :D

About flares, that cool, do you some photo how they should look on car? I eould be really interested, bu form and look of then, I feel like it will look nice!

Test fitted the front and lip quickly.
I think the end result will be nice.

Time for some more metal work and to find somebody that can paint the car.

This is the approximate ride height that the car will have after some measures I got from a few people driving E92 with Wisefab.

Removed some unnecessary double sheet metal inside the bonnet.

2019-03-04-11-11-49_img_1438.jpg

Got my fender flares home and started to fit them to the car.
I will cut the wheel arches more and weld some sheet metal to it to prevent exploding the fibre glass in case of tire explosion. :)
Also bought M-sport side skirts because the fender flares were made for them and I have also ordered 100mm spacers for the rear wheels.
I will begin to drift with 235mm tires so I need the spacers to not get Impala style.

A picture of how the engine were mounted.
I will make new engine mounts as I don't like how they turned out.

2019-03-04-11-11-49_skek9099.jpg

I've mounted the canisters for the front suspenstion and started to re-do the engine mounts.

2019-04-26-16-30-13_wpjg7236.jpg

Cut the rear arches and made new ones with sheet metal.

I've also cut some in the front fenders and front bumper for claerence.

Put the car out of the garage the other day just to get a motivation booster:
It's also easier to see the end result in a bigger perspective. :)
