BUYING FROM JAPWESTMOD CAUTION!!!!!

for the clutch just get in touch with citizens advice bureau who will put you in touch with trading standards as it is not fit for purpose. he has sealed his fate by saying he was using it.therefore must have known it was faulty prior to sale. the condition of the clutch would not fall under the MOT check but would probably be mentioned if the inspector had spotted it. from experience trading standards like to visit motor traders and bring their mates the inland revenue.

once again the small claims court should see you regain your £350 fee plus interest on your 9G as that's what he has earned with it sat in his account. plus your costs.

I don't know why people let companys push them round.

Matey is right. You paid £350 for the pleasure of sweet F all and didn't even get a fondle on a steering wheel? No offence but you got mug written all over you if you sit back and happily pay £350 for the pleasure of incompetence.

Granted I can imagine you are just happy to see that wad of dosh back in your account but you sir should..... KICK OFF BIG TIME.

£350 is a skid day (cheap one)

hey guys sorry i took so long to reply, things got really busy since i was last on the forum.

I really appreciate all the help you guys gave, It has been an amazing amount of help from people i haven't even met in person . Nevertheless i may consider what you guys have last suggested . Seems like an easy process to get through .

No return customer here too. Bought a pair of VS XX through jwm, no damage in description and for strong money. Arrived and this is the condition of one of the faces. Contact Mus and nothing was done about it, paid for a repair out of my own pocket.

Buying second-hand is just as risky for the consumer as selling second-hand is for the seller, so it always pays dividends to be as upfront and honest with any sale to the nth degree. Unfortunately that culture does not exist in the UK, and it's not a race or religion thing (hell I've been scammed plenty by uk asian's and whites); but it IS a culture thing. Look at the sale-sheets in Japan, if there's a dog-hair on the seat they tell you, that's taking pride in business.

Now sadly the attitude above doesn't wash, phoning and giving apologies with no intention of compensation. It's just playing on the typical british attitude of 'don't fret, he'll get to the bottom of it' - and knowing legal processes can take months. In some countries there's a good chance the seller would have a T-33 at his head before the week was out depending to whom the money was owed and the product sold, and this I fear is the most effective way to deal with such a situation though it might not be everybodies preferred approach.

The wheels above, tricky call really - the price you pay is completely irrelevant, that's a term you agree to usually because you want a rare part. When buying second hand parts you have to expect some form of wear; YES the seller should absolutely have been upfront about obvious damage; but you can't make a call like 'I want a partial refund' because I'm chosing to have it repaired; the only fair avenue you can go down is 'I want a full refund, take the item back' - and guess what? We are all in the same boat that our hearts overrule or heads and we keep the part due to the rarity or desirability. A lot of dealers count on this fundamental weakness and it's why they get away with misadvertising so frequently :-)

Made an account to answer here. I'm usually just a reader :). Hi from Germany and soon from Japan.

A friend of mine is also having a bad time with them..
He is from Germany and I helped him out finding a set of SSR mesh wheels for his S13.
Contacting purchase etc. went fine around mid last year but as soon as the payment was done -even via paypal- JapWest (Maz) rarely replied.

Since it takes a while to fill up a container and finding a vessel we were pretty relaxed as winter would come.
Now at the end of '18 I became suspicious and requested more info. We got no replies for a month and I just started a paypal claim. Suddenly he answered again! A bit of back and forth with excuses that he is in Japan and will get back to us asap etc... we decided to stop the paypal claim (stupid)...
As you might expect we didn't get any info or replies anymore up until my friend found this thread.

My friend started spamming him on social media and surprise, an answer appeard on my mail account with a detailed and loooong excuse for all delays as well as the option for a refund.

Sidenote I bought a set of coilover and seatrails from their UK stock which arrived in no time. He even helped us out with with some questions about fitment etc. all replies came in same day.

As mentioned already it seems that they can't handle their amount of workload... I hope we will have the wheels or a refund soon.
Anyway stay away... It's not worth the stress...

That’s what was so annoying too.

To top that of I got a neutral JZX100 offer from them as a reply on one of our last mails about the issue. I thought are you kidding me?

it sounds like a ponzi scheme , using new customers money to pay off the old unhappy ones .
when they run out of new customers the shit will hit the fan

Hes also active on facebook, tried to sell me some ps13 dmax over fenders which actually are origin type 2, has no knowledge on what he actually has.

So after saying I was happy with my wheels....

I was sold them as 9.5j et 25. I had them off before christmas to sort them out and it turns out they're 9j wheels...

I know it's not a major difference, but as it was my first set of 'real wheels' I'm a bit miffed as they weren't cheap and I wouldn't have bought them if I'd know they were 9s.

I havnt had any dealings with him but over the years I've seen loads of threads about how shit he is. How people like monkey London support him is beyond me but yea I'm surprised he's still trading with the amount of people he's fucked over/pissed off
