Cusco Mech diffs - MZ or RS

Is there a safe oil for all mechanical diffs? I don't know what make mine is, ya see....

Looks like as long as its a GL5 oil around 75w90 or 80w90 it should be ok.

cusco actually recommend an 80W-140. its a bit of a personal pref thing again, some oils make it less clunky and harsh, others make it lock quicker and more aggressively. just so long as its GL5 and non synth its aaaall good

heavy oils make it harsher and lessen the lifespan slightly, normal weight (about 80) is good for lifespan and is still good for locking. you should only go heavy if you feel the diff is getting old and not locking as it should.

I'm waiting to see what the Oilman says about diff oil and may run that, otherwise its whatever the local petrol station has
