Just bumping this to see what peoples thought are on Tomei Pon cams.

Do they need springs etc for reliable running?

Currently running a Redtop with Gt2871r, 850's, z32, Power FC etc 370bhp/370 torques, are they going to benefit me that much?
 
my 180sx has 390bhp with no head work or bottom end and i give it death everyday and it hasnt missed a beat

Standard Cams yeah? got any idea what injector duty is at? I was under the impressions 550's maxed out around 350bhp! Also, only 320ftlb torque? thats pretty shit...

yeh standard cams and standard inlet standard rods pistons crank just bolt on parts. you would have to ask steve at fc tuning about the duty on the injectors.

Well, there's a basic equation you can use, based on a "sensible" AFR of close to 12.0

bhp = IDC * sqrt (base pressure in bar) * injector size * 0.00417

bhp = 390

IDC = ??

base pressure in bar = 3.0 (assuming, not been changed)

Injector size = 555

390 = IDC * sqrt (3.0) * 555 * 0.00417

IDC = 390 / (sqrt (3.0) * 555 * 0.00417)

IDC = 97.3%

Those injectors are being pushed too hard! Time for some bigger squirters! At 350 BHP they would be at 87.3% IDC which is more inline with what you want. Hence people say 350 BHP is the limit.

So increasing fuel pressure with an FPR would solve the problem as well, right?
