do's and donts of the legend sr20det

yup sure did mate $10,000 rebuild down the drain...

if fc tuneing was selling numbers not tunes then he would have his ramp rate high as a kite and everyone would be getting dyno graphs with 300kw on 10psi,this tuner does real world runs no dyno queen crap,he could just tell the dyno its a 50deg day if he wanted that extra 30hp..

Your wrong.

Do you even get how much pressure there in the cylinder while the piston is moving up after the intake valve has closed?

How much backpressure was there so that the valves where opened?

Who determined this to be the fault?

ok back on topic whats needed to safely run a t51z got my eye on 1..also while swappin he sr fro my s14 shell into my s15 i took a peak up into the turbo elbow and the inside of it is the colour of a cup of tea would this be a majour sign of under fueling??tought it should be near black??

you mean the turbo dump pipe? well yea you would expect it to be black as mqybe it was running very lean, if i was running a t51z id run 550cc injectors, apexi power fc d-jetro,internal or external gate watever suits you sometimes internals are better if theres no good spot for an external wastegate, front mount,3inch exhuast 17psi happy days :D

2 tuners and the engine rebuilders and a little valve sitting in the top of a piston

What a load of shit hahaha

anyway mine is the best setup and mapped by the.best so ner ner

fuck all the boly ond how about a good freshen up new fuel filter and a good tank.clean then we can start on about the posh power adders yo

well its just common sense to maintain your car properly. fuel filters are realy neglected tho most cars have the same 1 for 20 years.

i have an sr20 redtop with a z32 afm, s15 turbo, 555cc injectors, blitz dual sbc etc

my question is, would an safc be adequate to map this

or what would you use to map it

thanks conor

+1 on the fuel filters, A load of black shit came out of mine.

jdmjza70r - Get a proper ECU and correctly tuned. Do it right the first time and dont waste money.

And my contribution to this thread is far better than the majority of the bullshit and cockwaving that goes on here.

If I was building a SR, I think a TD06 20G would almost definatley be the turbo I would go for.

Just make sure your do all the other bits to make sure it makes the 400+ it should be making, I've seen people with 20Gs running under 400 and I can't see the point in that.

yea man lean or very hot!!...lean means hot but u knw what i mean it might of just had a hard time, my gtr turboes looked like that and it ran rich on a jap chiped ecu so just heat will do it

cool lol maybe not cool probably no real harm done the engine has only seen a handful of trackdays since rebuild no play in the shaft..gonna be getting 555cc nismos rb25 afm and nistune in the new shell so that should sort it

I know its probably been asked a million times and theres loads of personal preferences.

But what oil would you guys advise I whack in my Redtop SR?

Been reccomended 10w50 by my chums but concered it might be a bit thick? Will the colder months have an effect on the oil you should run?

Im driving at Mallory next week and wanted to do a change before. Its a relatively stock SR so doesnt need any special lube. (FMIC, full eggsauce, manifold, 25g!)

10w50 dude, like I told ya  I rekon anyway.

But you neeeeeed oil press/temp gauges to verify these. Regardless of outside air temp, top of 3rd at Mallory will still get the oil pretty toasty and its good to know 10w50 will coupe well @ high temps
