Thats my feelings about it too. From the description in the witch hunt I was expecting to see a car that was battered and messy and thrown together.. what I saw in the video was a tidy looking RX7 widebody drift car that looked a lot like the one in the advert. I've seen many a car with mis-advertised years but at the end of the day the year means fuck all with a modified car like this...

I think it smacks of sour grapes and toys out of pram to be fair which then has turned into a tirade of slanderous accusations blown out of proportion by an agrieved 'war veteran' that seems to have a chip on his shoulder.. the legal route hasn't worked out for him so he's resorted to this.

The whole Ghostdancer scenario was a shitter, we all know that, its common knowledge. No one really knows the full story either.. fuck knows what went on really.

Legally it seems the OP is screwed, but at the very least we all morally know that what Julian did was terrible. And at least you can have the faint consolation that Julians business and character have taken a massive dent. You can word it how you like but we can all obviously see through the "I was an employee" story lol.

As for the car. Well it looks ok in vid and pics but wouldnt use that as a defence. I mean the evidence speaks for itself. If you AS STATED in the new add for the car had to respray it as you werent "100% happy with it", and yet AS STATED only even then sold the car for £5,000? I mean it couldnt have been such a great car as you claim? That just doesnt add up. And to expect ppl to swallow the "I didnt make a penny, all went to SKAY" story is actually insulting. The power issue I wouldnt have as much of a problem with. I mean theres nothing to say that with enough boost it couldnt make 600bhp I imagine and possibly explode (havent actually gone through the spec though), and that 450bhp is more of a safer map as mentioned.

Theres bad stories about nearly every garage, tuner, or importer. But this story is up there with the worst, and I'd presume that if you werent so chummy with ppl in scene or such a "great servant to drifting" then you would have been slaughtered alot harder than you appear to be. I mean I'd see this as far worse than what k-drift have done and look at the abuse he is getting.

It's a damn shame that this could all happen. But then you cant always expect a perfect car from the pictures!

I bought a car from Mitto, it had some problems but he has helped to resolve them.

A car is worth what people are willing to pay for it, but atleast give him atleast some money back, start a scheme to pay back say £1-2k a month or just give him the full ammount?

As someone said in the K-Drift fiasco... Can you not sell the debt?

regardless taff, the guy is out of pocket 14k!!! so far no explanation as to how that is justified.

the issue is NOT wether he was within his rights to not be happy with the car

(which legaly if its been misadvertised he IS)

regardless of opinion on wether the car was as desribed or up to standard, someone still has 14k of his money.

there is absolutely no way that is acceptable.

Glad I saw this thread as I was goin to buy a ps from Julian and he said he was goin to build it for Luke fink to drive this summer but needed to know if I wanted it or not asap. Very strange as 2 days later it was at Manchester fully built and running. Strange that it was a orange ps with a different spec in japan and 2 days later competing in Manchester.

This is a very sorry tale and the guy should be getting his money back end of!

Sorry Bryn I don't agree.... the difference is alot-irrelevent of the condition the OP has been mis-sold something, to which he is well within consumer rights to ask/demand a refund as it's not as described (i.e 3 years older!!!)

He's now short of £14,000!!! For fuck sake-think about that sum for a minute people, how long does it take MOST people to save that money (there are a few exceptions obviously)

Who owns the car now, how do you know it was sold for only 5k ? Proof of receipt ? Do you have proof of that ?

Read the entire thread and stinks of shit. OP got burned, the best you can hope for is to enlighten people to your experience.

Uh...must have missed that one mate. I don't remember ever going to court, so not sure how you figure that 'it was all sorted in the courts!

I do remember you disapearing off the radar, binning your solicitor and ignoring my solicitors letters. I recall you burying your head in the sand and some mad unexpected switch of responsibilty resulting in your mrs taking the fall.

So in a nut shell 'we' haven't been to court, hence no refund.

Two different cars...
 
So I imagine the way it went was:

Julian says he knows the car personally and is perfect, but really hes a salesman and is going to say that. Only really goes by the pics, spec, and what hes told by the lads in Japan.

£12.5k given to Julian for car.

£10k to SKAY for car, and £2.5k profit for Julian say.

£? given for seats and doorcards. Any profit made?

Car arrives. hmm....not quite as expected. But surely he'll take it anyway at this stage? Julian owed money for shipping.

Car not taken. Julian wont get a refund off Japan side realistically. Hes not going to ship it all the way back over again anyway. He pays the shipping himself out of his profit.

He then resprays the car so lets that would be all his profit gone.

And then he re sells the car for £5k. Why didnt he at least get £5k back then immediately? Thats a clear £5k profit at least for screwing someone over. Surely that should have been paid back straightaway. It would have been a start at the very least.

Then decides to bail, drop responsibility. All with still at least £5k out of the deal, while the other pary is £14k down. Aswell as the japan side being up £10k+.

Am I missing anything?
