Maxxis British Drift Championship - 2011 dates and locations

Great track line up. So glad there's no Lydden Hill round, I hate the drive there.

Couldn't be worse than being stuck behind a combine harvester for 2 hours on the way to Norfolk on the worlds bumpiest single carriageway road lol

I'd rather walk behind a combine for 2 hours to Norfolk than drive down the M1 and clockwise round the M25 to the QE bridge on a Friday afternoon/evening. Last couple of times it's taken over 6 hours.

lyden hill wasnt fun for me either, hotel hadnt been booked, every where was full. Angry northern girl was coming out to play!

i managed to get the front wheels of my transporter off the ground with manfoots car on the back on that fucking horrible norfolk road

Only one track this year, that's a shame.
Anyone know much is it going to be this year??

And what the hell is a Super pro??
Sounds like an expensive hooker!

I gotta say on a personal note, this years doesnt seem as good as last year, we had at least 3 tracks, 1 oval and 2 car park.

This year we have about 3 car parks, 1 oval and 1 track.

Im not bothered about the distances, hell, I'll trek to Scotland for all 5 rounds if I have to, but the level feels like its dropped off, unless of course, you're a super pro.

So much for BDC being a grass roots championship, and I bet due to certain circumstances this years fee will have risen, despite the fact that the semi's are mainly drifiting car parks. Based on what I've heard so far, Im glad my entrance fee is paid for by my sponsor because you'll be looking at £150+ to skid a car park.

Interested to hear about this pro/super pro thing.

No round at Mallory Park this year - Shame, I thought this was gonna be a new venue for the BDC this year from Hosmob's Mallory thread.

Seems to be alot of more northern events. I hope the super pro fees will be more as they get an extra round. I can see the Semi Pro and Pro classes being divided from the Super Pro.
Will BDC be getting some more staff/helpers as they will need it running all those class even across two days. Were going to need to Darrens for sure.

I've enjoyed watching the car park drifting more than the drifting on the tracks. Car Park drifting is often tight, so more risk of damage to your car, so more skill needed.

Yeah, Im not saying that because its in a car park that its not technical, but there is something that can be said for drifiting on a proper bit of track, be it Silverstone, Llandow, Lydden, Mallory, where ever ;)

My Mallory thread, what you talking about !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know all the issues with it but I still think Lydden's a sad loss for the championship TBH, it's always a great track for spectators and a nice one to drive too :( Was looking forward to doing that turn 1 competitively this year.

Still looking forward to BDC 2011 though.

Jesus, and I thought I smoked too much lol :D

This one mate.....

Anyway with 2011 looming I am enthusiastic and excited about the season ahead for us, obviously the monthly FCD days plus Awsomefest with DW, the ODC finals and a surprise event at the beggining of October which we will announce details of early 2011.

I hope everyone has a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

Surprise event, major leap to BDC don't you think lol

Not really, to say Mallory is one of the best places I have ever skidded doesnt do it justice, Im very surprised the BDC hasnt jumped on your bandwagon yet and secured a round for this year, but our loss I guess.

See you in Feb for more of the same

ill be heading to a few rounds this year, :D anyone from the north let me know car share for heading to the south x

We would love to host BDC but as I said the costs are prohibitive for a weekend event and that's just the way it is, our event in October is a one off and in terms of drifting in the UK will be something different to the championships and should be good fun.

Roll on the BDC, as I said looking forward to it and too help out at the Mallory licencesing day in March.

See you in Feb
