Mx5 Bolt On Turbo

lol....wel i know a few techys at bmw....so i can get a brand new eaton m45 for about £100!!!

My matey had an eatoned g40 and that was awsome!!

Mine i think is the 115bhp and my goddy god it goes well......My mates 2.2 Vetec prelude only just pulled away from me....but on cam its amazing....just seems off cam is piss poor :(

Supercharging probs is the best route for me to go down....as i will have all the low rev power i could want :D

I can break the rear end away but it just looses power and the car straightens back up.....

theyre over 6 times what i paid for the car! i want mucho cheapness pikey style job!

Yes, go to a drift day and practice as you will learn fuck all on the roads or in carparks

i never said it was on roads or carparks....its on an abandoned airstrip and my mates know the owners of the land its on....so its all good! :D

Gunna try and see if we can get any proper drift days set up there :D

But i have been toying and im just strugging to keep it going....my bm was brilliant but this just seems to grip and bog down... :(

to drift a stock powered mx5 you need high tyre pressures (40psi+) and lots of manfoot, they're not the easiest car to drift, you need to be quick with them as in clutch kick hard and catch it quickly so you can get straight back on the power again really quickly, they're not like higher powered cars where you can back off the power for a second and get back on it you need to be really agressive with them and be on it all the time or you just drop out of the rev range.

Collio thanx buddy! :D

Well....im getting better and im starting to be able to take more length on my skids...keeping the tail hanging loose out there :D

Has anyone got any vids of there first few skids in a standard mx 5......see i dont know wether ive reached the limit that a standard mx5 can skid and know wether to start to modify it.....lowering exectra.....i just want to make the most out of my learning curve and get the best car control as possible! :D

completely stock bar a set of HSD's and 55psi in the rear tyres (55 was to high)

the coilovers didn't make much difference to how long i could keep it skidding for (as that is completely down to manfoot) but it made the car loads more predictable, i seriously recomend getting a set, so much so if it was a choice between a supercharger or hsd's id get the hsd's, they make mx5's awesome

I've had a JDM prelude bb1 and I've got a 115bhp Eunos, the prelude would of killed the eunos dead on vtec or not lol. Your mate was taking it easy or his lude needs a service.

As for insurance, you never know til you try. I had a V6 calibra when I was your age and it didn't cost much to insure, likewise I was only 20 with the lude and all mods declared and it wasn't too bad. My mates who are the same age struggled to insure 1.6 rover coupes with the same driving history so you never know.

you can build yourself the full kit with front mount and blue greddy e manage for 500 im running a mk1 eunos 1.6 std internals and peeks at 240 hp at 0.8 bar runs spot on would do 300hp @1 bar if i had put forged rods in btw std they have forged crank and pistons the week link is the rods :D:D:D

I have just had my MX5 MK2 supercharged..... lovely progressively feel to how the power is delivered, just waiting for the final things to be done and then back to the track.

M45 supercharger
ME221 ECU
RX8 injectors (I think)
Front mount

Running on standard engine and SC parts and regular unleaded (not vpower etc) it made 200hp, which should make for an awesome little track car :D
