My 1990 Eunos Track / Drift project

100hp is plenty to get sideways you just need to be able to drive ;) (and kick the fuck out of the clutch :D)

And yes a proper diff makes alllllllllllllllllll the difference.

What a FAB week at the 'ring, easily my best trip yet, the Eunos was great fun!

According to the speedo ive done 2111 KM's this week, including 20-odd laps of the Nurburgring in it, and its performed really well

ill stick some photos up when Ive sorted them out :)

Edit : Couple of quick ones - first is a pic of the Eunos at the gate, a mate grabbed it from the 'ring webcam - proves the Eunos made it over in one piece heh

And this one for a quick laugh - check the Cooper S rocking it JDM style-e y0 with its super advans :euge:

Car was great, because it handles so well, its like a go-kart. Could do with an extra 20-30bhp to master the 'ring in it however.

I think i'll be selling it for sure :(

Ill stick a post up in the for sale section over the weekend, or you can PM me if you want any info

just out of interest how did you fit your roll bar, and if it bolted in are there holes in the chassis already or do you have to bodge it?

Fitting a rear roll cage in an MX5 involves some cutting of seatbelt mounts, the rear shelf, and occasionally, depending on if you have door bars, some need the door handle shelf to be slightly cut...

Thats why I went for a fat assed roll bar that will support a sideways roll, but probably fail if the car was being dragged on its roof. I'd be dead anyway though, so it doesn't really matter  My only reason was that I didn't want to do anything un-reversible to the car assuming I sell it in September...

But seriously, such a giggle, grip driving or not... :D

tell me this any ideas of getting a few extra bhp outta the wee mx's is there any point upgrading the injectors when the internals are the standard??

The cage is bolted in, the rear shelf has to be cut a little to accomodate the diag's. Nothing else was drilled / cut

Realistically, its very hard to extract any real power from either the 1.6 or 1.8. The MX5 is quite capable of snorting alot more fuel than you'd expect, and financially at least, a small turbo (you dont want to ruin the balance of the car), or if you can afford to run it, a supercharger is the only way forward. Look to spend upwards of £1000 for a turbo kit, and a fair whack more for a supercharger.

You might get 3-5bhp from a decent cold air kit, then mabey another 2 from a de-cat system, torque wont improve much though... And I think I've tried just about everything so far!:)
