New Zealand comp spec street driven RB25 C34 Laurel (pic heavy)

Great thread, keep it coming ;)

Cheers!

Woohoo!

Car is now 'legal', although I managed to blast out my lame fart cannon's silencer on the way there :wack: This picture here is actually of me stuck, because the car now has an open diff, and three-wheels hard, leaving me looking like a complete retard! I also got stuck leaving the WOF inspectors too, with the rear wheel sitting a good 200mm off of the curb! So even for that reason alone, the lock diff will be going back in asap so I can actually angle into sleep driveways without having to spend my time shoving planks under the sky-high wheel :o

So this happened

Because I got sick of looking at this

I'm thinking of moving forward the steering rack so I can do away with the offset rack spacers. All of this is necessary because of mad lock.

Pretty damned ugly huh.

By the end of the day it looked like this.

I modeled the tubs around my 17" front wheels, but 18's will fit fine too.

After I finished my 6 month fabrication course, I scored a gig working under a fabricator that has run his fab shop for the last 10 years. I could never have learned as much as I have in as little time as I have if he hadn't taken me in... Although I did get my foot in the door by offering him two weeks free labour!

The best part about the job is the variety. One day will be an exhaust, the next day a roll cage, or an engine conversion, anything on wheels that needs metal work really. We do race cars, drift cars, muscle car restoration and modifying, hot rod building, bike customizing, air bag installs, the lot. I'll start sorting and posting pics of all the cool stuff

Really cool build and I'm a massive fan of the amount of detail you go into.

NZ pretty strict on modified cars then? Worse than Australia?

Keep the updates coming!

Oh no way man, NZ is fantastic for cars. Follow the rules properly and almost anything goes. Just don't get caught without your reg, WOF or licence and your fine.

Heck, I daily drove this car for months and didn't get a single fine the first nine times I was pulled over! Bald tires and skids ended that streak though.. Some people here think they have a hard time, but have no idea how bad it is overseas. I literally know I'm not likely to move from here to Oz ever, purely based on the fact that I couldn't build and drive street cars there like I can over here :o

Mean thread looking at getting a c34 soon after the last few yearsbof being without a turbo nissan in my possesion, factory turbo manual , will problerbly go through all the cert process due to the tightening rules thatll probly get you pink stickered for having some 10s on the rear
