Northern drift championship teesside autodrome 24/25th march

I had a great weekend until my wheel fell off. sorry if i scored the track!

My only issue with the weekend was the start marshal on the west track needs to be a bit more specific with his hand signals as it was tough to tell if he was waving at the car on the access road or the track or the pedestrians to cross. Not really an issue but it could cause issues if pedestrians cross and a driver thinks he is getting waved.

Cheers for an awesome weekend jen, bit gutted the car never made it past the practice on the west track but i'll be back for rnd2 with a new engine and less issues hopefully.

tis a very good point, a few times we werent sure who he was pointing at.
just dont use that as the entry/exit, use the national track entry but trun left onto west track maybe?

Great weekend! Nice to meet you Jen and loads of other people too! Some top quality drifting was on hand and I cant wait for Round2 !!

It was an awesome weekend. All the competitors were really good, much better than what I had expected.

I ended up doing the qualifying/competition in 2nd gear, banging off the limiter like a daft twat. Couldn't get anywhere near the first clip in 3rd gear so thought get more points being closer with less speed in 2nd. I also couldn't get the downshift from 3rd to 2nd right, same coming out of 2nd hairpin, couldn't get the upshift right to 3rd so kept it in 2nd rather than straightening slightly on upshift. Even playing it safe, I fucked up 4 out of 7 runs. So I got some practice to do with gear changing as I can do it, just not consistently enough.

Anyway I'll be there for round 2 for sure.

Best battle of the day imo.

The only critisim i've heard is the decision to limit the photographer to just Ste, I know the dodgem squad and a few other bloggers would have come up and took photos if they had been allowed, but saw no point even coming if they were just stood at the barriers.

Surely all the people throwing photos across facebook and the web would have been a good thing for NDC?

We needed an official tog because the amount of (people claiming to be) togs on the track was getting dangerous and keeping an eye on them all was a job in its self. Ste has a team of 4 so they get they get all the runs from all the angles so i cant see the point of doubling up the people stood in those places .

Depends if those four people run seperate blogs that can advertise your event?

Only reason I brought it up was because its free advertising, you can always have media entry forms and limit the number of togs. But depends if the benefits outweigh the hasstle I suppose

I was one of said 'togs on the track. I started blogging last year on driftbloggers.com but have since started a new site XtremAngle.com with a bloke from Northern Ireland. I will be posting a blog about the event to at least XA (maybe both sites) and as the photographer for Scotty and Team Skylinepart.com I will be publishing a blog on skylinepart.com from the point of view of the judging panel. These blogs will be heavily shared around on Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Also, the pictures will be uploaded to my website (DoriFoto | Drift Photography), again with a blog post, and have already gone up on my Facebook page - a bit too heavily compressed for my liking but they still document a great event. I hope that all of this will offer at least some beneficial publicity.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well supported this first event was. A credit to the organisors and competitors. I can't wait for round 2. Hopefully the weather gods will still be in a good mood :)

What does one need to do to get on track for photos? Considering I am both a blogger and photographer with a Scottish view on the event. But I also know that running a blog shouldn't be credit towards a pass to the track itself.

Also, I was wondering where the results of the first round is posted?
