Pic request: Hot ass FC's

Yeah they're beefy mo fo's man.

Anyone know who produces the bonnet on the green Fc above, need one baaad !

Shine Auto over in the states make them. Gary at rotaryart.co.uk is the UK dealer. Good price too.

Am also after a poly rear hatch. Keep us updated:thumbs:

Cheers,
John

In what way? For both comments? Im honestly interested in the opinions why :)

ive seen sooo many FC engine bays with rotaries, im just used to it and where everything is, it just seems weird when u see the engine sitting right in the middle of the suspension turrets.

Well ive not fitted an engine into an FC of any sort but i assume plopping a new one in, is going to be harder than putting a 13b in. Then there's the whole business with tuning and modifying a piston engine seem alot more complicated than up-rating parts in a rotary.

im now putting on my flame suit because i know you've probably got a list of reasons of why I am wrong to throw back in my face :D

No, like said, just wanted opinions.

It sure as hell is easier to tune and work on a v8 rather than a turbo rotary though.
And they survive the abuse.

Suppose it comes down to personal preference.
When you start getting to the highly tuned stuff, a rebuild would be a lot cheaper and easier on a rotary. Basically depends what you want for the car.

And surely a front-mid engined car is going handle better than a front engined car

well thats my opinion at least

I fucking love rotaries, the noise, the revs, the general madness of them, but to be honest, the sensible route is a LS in one, I mean...

LS weighs less, give more power and torque for less money, far more reliable, gives 50-50 weight distribution, and is cheaper to fix if something ever did happen.

Thing is, though the cost of an LS conversion is a fair wack once all added up, it starts paying for itself.
There people on the V8 RX7 forum that went through 6 big power rotaries in 6 years, then converted to a LS or similar, have ran better times round the track, and had no reliability trouble at all.

+1 dont see the point in taking a rex to put a piston engine in in find something that already has pistons then add more

That makes no sense at all. What difference does it make if it was orignally piston or not, an engine conversion is an engine conversion.

i think he's trying to say, putting an RB in a 180sx is easier than a v8 in an rx?

though thats kinda cheating as they're both nissan engines

Excuse the camera phone spec pics and the dirt of the screen, have yet to find a decent method of cleaning poly carbonite.....

Any chance of a pic or two more of this Eric? I'd say my FC has the same spoiler and I'm trying to decide whether to keep it or not. A pic or two of other FCs with it could sway my mind. Cheers

Im not sure, but he would be wrong, a V8 is ridiculously easy on one, no custom work needed at all, and loads of room, hence why its so popular in the USA, so much so there a busy forum just for them.

Anyhow, this debate is WAY off topic for this thread! :D

no what im getting at is rotary engined cars are not exactly all over the place why take the cars personallity if you know what i mean

dont get me wrong there is nothing wrong with a v8 i dont think you get much more low down grunt but an rx7 is just the wrong car to do it too

hope that kind of makes sense

wrong car to..?! what the fuck!?

FC = badical.

FC + V8 = extra badical.

no better looking sports hatch. no more capable engine. the two meet. make dirty sex and the world is a better place for it :smash:

less chat. more pics! :smash:

Reliability? Torque?
As much as I love rotaries, if mine blew its doubtful it would go back in!

Yeah, fair point. BUT you'd not replace it with an SR20 would you? I have no problems with SR20's, and no real problem with engine conversions on FC's, but....

1jZ = cool. V8 = cool. SR20 = not cool!

I'd not be putting an SR20 in out of choice if I was doing a conversion, put it that way!

hatch pics were pg.2

If I was insecure about the car I wouldnt have camo pink interior or that gay hatch.

:euge:

I painted it brown for christ sakes, even i hate it.

..k i lied, but it is gay.

shawn what makes the rear fenders.. ive tried GP sports and Origin.. neither are agressive enough for me!
