Ps13 Drift build

Haha. Not really, been bugging Ian who done all the work throughout the project. And you can't rush things when your not doing it yourself. Didn't want anything rushed, just done properly by someone who knows what he's doing. Should be worth it when its done. Lol. !

Right need a little help... been over there today, Thought the rocker cover gasket was the source of my oil leak. Changed it.... Still got my oil leak. I cant find the source of the leak., All i can see is oil drippping from one of the bolts that hold the turbo elbow to downpipe, at the downpipe end. As if its coming from the turbo??? I really hope this isnt the case, as ive just fitted a new turbo.

the car Is very smokey too. Could this be oil in the exhaust burning off?

took the downpipe out today, and there are was a beige coloured sludge in the downpipe.

Any Ideas??

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks!

Last pics of how it sits now before i take it to norkolk.:D

Hopefully have some of me skidding it after sat! :smash:

And of me skidding it :p lol looks so. Much better off the trailer pic dosent do it justice tho... We need to get it sprayed asap

Did you find the cause of the oil leak? Sounds like the turbo to me, especially as you say it's blowing smoke! Very nice car anyhow!!! Hope you get it all sorted, some good work has gone into it, once it's painted it'll look mint!

Got the rear lights from ZML on here... Top bloke. ;)

As for the oil leak... Not as such, changed the rocker cover gasket, needed doing anyway, but wasnt the cause.

I took all of the boost pipes and intercooler off the other day and it was FULL of oil. So ive cleaned that out and left it to drain.

So hopefully next time i go over there and re fit it all, it wont smoke as much... or At ALL :D

We shall see.

Thanks for comments.

Thanks dude. Ill hopefully be a regular if the car runs ok. ;)

Just come over and have a look / chat when im there. Cos i dont no that many people and its always good to meet the face of the profiles. ;)

will do buddy. i will be running the track for some of the time so im sure you will see me about. but i will come and say hello to you. i hope the car runs well for u buddy

Thanks mate. See you sat. Might have to speak to you about tagging on the end of ian and marks practice laps so i can drive the car about abit before i actually skid it.

ye speak to me or malx he is the main man for sorting things like that out and seeing as he is the boss i have to listen to what he says too ;) but im sure we can do that for you

Finally got time to update this after norfolk :D

Right, so took the car to norfolk on the 9th. Got there bright and early and had the car unloaded before most people got there.:smash:

Spent the first hour ish, watching othe people and cacking my pants about what was going to happen.

So finally took the car out in the B group to test it out, went out for the first run with every intention of just driving it around and seeing how it went and felt. So after 1 lap of driving i ended up skidding the rest. :smash:

I felt so confident with the car, it felt so resposive and strong, i just went for it. And that was the start of an amazing day... car held up really well, Only had to re fix one boost pipe all day.

i cant Thank Ian (mr2) enough for all his hard work building this car, his work is top quality and obviously he knows his stuff because between us we have built a truely AMAZING drift car.! :D

So both Ian and My brother gary (gary200) drove the car on saturday and showed what the car was capable of! And both of them said how well it was set up and how resposive it was..

All i need to do is to get a a pair of wider (8,5jj+) wheels and some grippy tyres for the front as it had a little understeer, but nothing major.

So i am Now the happiest person EVER! Lol

Thanks To Ian, and everyone who helped me out. Saturday was well worth the wait. Roll on the next one!

Here are some pics of the beast in action! ( when they upload to photobucket :smash:)

PS bonnet on Onevia front looks really good.

Glad it works, looks so good too.

Was the front hard to make work? I asked Norfy before and he said the bumper needed shaving a bit and something else I think. How did you find it?
