RADrift - Big Auf is200

Or just tint spray the current ones. Lexus lights painted red look rad to me. Vinyl or what not.

I dont mind the chrome tail lights, breaks the back up a bit I feel. Although I have been thinking about red lamin-x...

And cheers minto, wasn't too fussed with getting a boot lip before fitting the trd kit, but now it's on I'm thinking of getting one similar to what Pete has... not sure yet.

Also forgot to mention, booked in for my first proper track drift day. Booked up the Pembery Weekender in June with my mates, probably a 5 or 6 hour drive but should be good. Might try and do a Norfolk day before to get a bit more experience.

Sounds good man, Id 110% get that spoiler pete's got, Super nice shape to them and would really pull your roof wing / rear lip off imo. Same with the plate, its such a minor, unimportant detail however the end results are always worth it imo. :) Just my 2p.

Ah so this is what my Recaro is going in! Love this car dude, looks so awesome! You tidied up the seat a treat, looks way better now!

That looks super cool dude! great job :)

Not a fan of the new rear smoked lights you got, I would also spray tint red/lamin x red the rear lights :)

but its up to you :)

keep up the great work !

So, got some more done on this.

The seat rail finally arrived so I fitted the Recaro. Not really happy with it as it just sits as high as the standard seat, so I'm going to get the legs cut down 2 inches or so on the seat mount to get it lower. Should be more comfy when it's a little lower.

Fitted a boot lip, was only a cheapo one from Poland but looks cool and fits ok. Didn't want to drill holes in the boot to fit so just stuck it down with Tiger seal, seems strong enough. As you can see, I also fitted a square rear plate. Glad I did, looks much better.

As you can see, I've still got some wacky front camber. Need to get the hubs modified again, but the guy I normally use has gone to Scotland to skid at driftland for 2 months (THANKS GLEN YOU INCONSIDERATE FUCK), and I'm struggling to find someone to give me a price.

Bought a load of standard rx7 wheels to skid on. Got like 8 now I think. They're all 16x8 and light, which is cool.

Also, I bought a hench looking clutch from Pete The Russian. Looks like it'll be a cunt to drive with, but at least it shouldn't slip lol... Also put my name down on a group buy for a lightened single mass flywheel, hopefully that'll get sorted before I go to Pembery.

Finally, bought a pair of Hyper Zeros last night. Don't know if I want to run them on the front or use them as skid wheels, will decide when they arrive. All I know is they will be painted silver or bronze as I hate white wheels...

That looks really good dude...

loving the spoilers..

Just needs some later spec tailights !!

keep up the great work :)

Looking pimppppp. Have you tried Superstyle Mo for knuckles?

Yeah Mo is a good friend of mine, asked him when I got the hubs modded the first time bit he didn't have anywhere to do the work at the time. Can always try again I suppose.

Update time.
So, drift prep. As per usual, we waited untill the week before Pembrey before panicking and trying to fix all the things that needed doing.

Firstly, I took the car down to M&M Engineering, so that Marshall could build me an exhaust and drop the seat down.
The exhaust is a full 2.5 inch stainless system, with a single oval Magnaflow backbox. It's also had the downpipes cut a bit so that it all sits above the chassis rails.

He also lowered the seat mount, dropped it about 2 inches. It's now the perfect height for me at 6 ft 6, still have headroom with my helmet on...

Next, stuck in some offset caster bushes, didn't get any good pics of them really.

Also, stuck the butch clutch in, once again, no good pics. Still drives nicely, not as heavy or jerky as I expected, which is great.

Finally, got the hubs modded again, so now I have a bit of front camber!

Finally, I got to hit the track. It was my first ever skid day (well, skid weekender). Learned so much over the weekend, went from barely being able to hold a drift, to sort of being able to transition and even managed to link two corners with a manji a couple of times!

Had a couple of teething problems throughout the weekend though. On the Saturday morning, everytime I went out on track it would cut out and not start after I span. Kept blowing the EFI fuse. Turns out, where the decat manifold is fitted, the standard lower lambda sensor sits very close to the firewall, and where I was doing big clutch kicks, the engine was rocking about and kept smashing the end of the sensor into the wall, which was causing the wires to short and blow the fuse. Luckily, I had a brand new lambda as I planned to replace it ages ago but never did, and the new one is shorter than the old smashed one, so that turned out to be quite an easy fix. Worth thinking about if you plan on fitting a decat mani to your is200 though!

On the Sunday, I suffered similar issues. Where the engine was rocking violently, it pulled on the wiring and snapped the plug on the VVT control valve. Unfortunately this was not repairable, so had to spend basically all day Sunday skidding with even less power than usual! I have since replaced the control valve, and am now on the lookout for some stiffer engine mounts as these seem to be the cause of all my problems...

Super excited to get back out on track again now. Got some pics from the on track photographers, cheers to them.

I did manage to knock my rear bumper off on one of the grass banks and broke all the mounting lugs, so just left it off for the rest of the day as it was only held by 2 cable ties and couldn't be arsed for it to fall off on the motorway etc. Drove home without it and fixed it in the week.
Got a cool pic of me and my RA bros waiting for jake's AA truck to pick him up.
Check out our fb page, Grants better at editing photos than I am so worth a look.

Finally, some more updates on stuff I bought.
Got the Hyper Zeros powdercoated bronze, gonna be buying a set of the wider 9.5j ones and get them done the same colour. Liking them a lot.

Also bought an altezza rep grille, not sure if I want to use it, so will see how it looks on the car when it arrives. Looks like this.

I was also drifting at the Pembrey weekender, bloody good atmosphere and sooo much seat time eh! Lots of good photo's from Blacktop. Is200 looks good, did look like it was quite hard work to drift but good on ya keeping at it, Pembrey is one of the more technical tracks so definitely not the easiest especially as a beginner! Good luck.

Yeah, seat time was great! Don't think I queued for any more than 10 minutes...
Apologies if I held you up at any point, kept getting the sessions red flagged on the Saturday morning where it kept cutting out...

Was a bit of a pain to learn as we weren't allowed passengers so I just had to get out there and try stuff, to see what would work and what wouldn't. Was difficult, but also a hugely fun learning curve. Hopefully will get back there soon, even if it is a 5 hour drive!

So after a discussion with my mates, we decided that instead of buying £240 quids worth of vibratechnics engine mounts, spending £10 on hockey pucks and making our own is the easier and far cheaper route.
As far as I know, Steve Saunders did it on his is200 years ago and used 3 pucks per side. I can get the threaded bar and nyloc nuts from work so that won't be an issue.

Also, I think I've decided what rear lights to get.

Only issue is, I resent the idea of paying £200 for them. Anyone know where I can get a set for a reasonable amount?

Looks so awesome now, will be mint with the battles on, usually very hard to get stuff painted/powdered bronze but they look spot on!

Also I would leave the stock lights and paint/vinyl the top of them red as other people have suggested than spunk £200 on a set and risk smashing them.

Don't beat yourself up too much about Pembrey, being a go kart track it is pretty difficult to link as a beginner but when you get it you will be able to tackle most things :)
