RADrift - Big Auf is200

Put the altezza grille on.
Not 100% I like it, think I need to get a real altezza badge with the chrome around the red...

Nice work on the car man it's looking sweet :)
I agree with what you said about the grille, I've been thinking the same with my altezza as I bought the same grille. I'm not sure if you could put a standard badge on it though as the red badge comes off but I think the plastic surround is one big moulded block.

Cheers dude

On mine the surround and the red bit all pull off as one, so could potentially change it over.
However, it's growing on me more and more, think I'll just keep an eye out for a genuine one at a reasonable price and then swap them over when I get one.

Been a while since I updated this thread, and it's basically because I've spent all my money on mods that haven't arrived yet, so there's no point updating really. I'm just doing this because I'm bored...

Ordered some brand new 17x9.5 et15 Hyper Zeros from JDMDistro 5 weeks ago, standard shipping is 8-16 weeks so still got a long wait to go. Wish I'd ordered them as air freight now.

Bought some Ikeya Formula subframe collars too, waiting on those from RHD Japan. Ordered the more expensive delivery, so hopefully won't have to wait too long for those.

Also paid for a lightened flywheel group buy with a load of other is200 owners.
Standard dual mass flywheel on these is 13.1kg from what I've researched, so a light single mass should make it nice and revvy.

This is the last update I got, which is the flywheel in 'rough cut'.

This came in at around 8kg, and we were told our target of 5.5kg is easily achievable, which is good.

Done some interior bits and bobs, like sticking my broadway mirror on, some go faster stickers, and a decent stereo for my PHAT BEATZ. Happy with it in there now.

Took it to my mate Twigs for an alignment, he's got a JZX100 Mark 2 so I trust his judgement.

He also does all my mates cars and everyone highly recommends him so was the only place to go really.

Didn't get any before pics of the screens, but this is the results after adjustment. My front camber is a bit out as the hubs have been welded a few mm different, but as it's only about half a degree im not too fussed. Twigs said he could adjust them on the camber arms if I was really that bothered, but due to the height, it would've been a pain removing the gauges to get to the arms etc.
Rest of the results are spot on, super happy with how it drives now. So much more responsive, and the rear end is way more predictable.

Hockey puck engine mounts are now done, along with the Polyurethane sealant filled gearbox mount, just waiting for some time to get down to the workshop and see if they work. Have some pictures.

Bought some more skid wheels. Looks like 2 are real Advan AVS Model 5s and 2 are reps, but will do as skid wheels. Only 7j et30something but they will look better than all the standard rx7 wheels I normally use. Plus they were super cheap!

Finally, here's some more cool pics of the car. Well, I think theyre cool anyway.

What are these like to skid then mate? Bet you gotta give it a right good kicking
Where I'm still a novice I'm probably not the best person to ask, but from my point of view its really not as bad as people on the internet seem to think they are...
Yeah it's a bit lacking in power but it just means I've gotta run a bit more psi, go fast, and be a bit brave, which is probably the better way to learn anyway.
The auto diff helped a lot as its a 4.1, so feels much perkier.
Mid drift clutch kicks are fully pointless though as the standard flywheel is just too heavy, and by the time it's spun up I found I had lost all momentum anyway.

Yeah true bud. Low powered cars a def the best for learning. High speeds and stock lock, this way you don't rely on anything ;) Looks sick too

This build gets better and better. How do you find it handling wise? Is it fun to drive etc? Obviously discounting ride height etc

It drives really well, as all the mods suspension/steering wise I have done are just to make it drive nice; aside from the crashing into the ground thing it does from being so low...
Especially since the proper alignment though, it's turns in really aggressively and is really grippy when not drifting, and is quite predictable when you try and get it sideways, which is ideal really.

Your car looks bang on mate, I'm literally on the train to go and an is200 up. Can't wait, they look fucking ace when subtly modified.

Unreal, just goes to show u don't need deep pockets to make a an is look this good! They look good any which is why I bought one but yours is lovely! What's it like to drift in the dry, I only drift mine in the wet.

Does the auto diff make a difference in acceleration and is it literally a straight fit?

I should probably update this thread.

You guys will love the sporty mods I have done to my sporty sports car.
