Did a bit of some drifting this weekend just gone.
Went to 3 Sisters for the first time. Booked up for the novice day on Saturday, and then the grown ups day on Sunday.
Had a bit of a faff getting there!
Thursday we ended up not doing my Subframe collars just in case we fucked something, so instead was just a case of get the last tyre on the front Hyper Zero, as I'd managed to fuck one getting it off the old Dares.
Eventually got all the tyres and stuff sorted out before a long 6 hour drive up to the hotel with my bros Friday night.
Saturday was not the best day of drifting I'd ever done. I think a combination of not a lot of sleep, plus never having drifted on a narrow circuit style course before meant I was struggling to get the hang of it...
Coupled to this, I seemed to have been put in the worst of the groups. I understand it was a novice day, but there were so many red flags I didn't get more than 2-3 laps per session which made me super agitated, and my driving was terrible as a consequence.
Did get a couple of nice photos though.
At one point I did have a slight off, where I tried for a big fancy flick entry, fucked up, forgot what to do with the steering wheel and ended up driving straight through the hay bales on the outside at the entry of the corner. Fortunately they were super soft, so the only damage done was my TRD lip fell off, as you'll see in some of the pics.
There's a short video of it on instagram, don't know if this link will work but it should be here.

I spent the evening sulking and winding my mates up due to just being super salty about how the day had gone. I wasnt impressed with the lack of seat time, or my lack of improvement, and was contemplating selling my Sunday ticket...
However. Sunday was a new day, and with the hope that it wasn't a novice day should mean more seat time, we headed back.
I'm glad I did! Sunday was a massive improvement! Each session had 6+ laps consistently, think I only had 1 red flag all day, and it meant I could relax into it and sort my driving out.
All started to come together towards the end of the day when they opened the full track up, it flowed really nicely and I was much happier.
Ended up having 1 or 2 mental laps with my bro Grant in the car in my last session, we were both laughing so much we were practically crying! So happy I did the Sunday, I feel like my driving improved tenfold.
Once again, the togs got some awesome pictures.
Also it turns out my diff drags a bit when drifting, causing it to spark a bit. Had loads of concerned people come up to me and mention it throughout the day which was funny! Made for some cool photos though.
Anyway. Final laps of the last session the car felt a bit funny, and when I jacked it up to change tyres the rear passenger side hub flopped about, which wasn't the best. Upon further inspection, the balljoint that attaches the upper wishbone to the hub had pulled through out of the wishbone, leaving the hub all flurpsy.
Hammered it as far back in as I could get it, covered it in gorilla glue and honestly about 40 cable ties, and then gently put everything back together.
One sketchy 300 mile 6+ hour drive home later, all was good!
Plans now are as follows:
-New rear balljoint / wishbone
-Stiffer springs to get rid of general boatiness / diff dragging.
-minty fresh knuckles for a smidge more lock
-do more skid days.
