S15 V8 Conversion

Now get some throttle boddies and listen to the noise!! Awesome project though, never seen an s15 that colour before, I like it!!

Ahh that alright with the wiring then. Was gunna say if you get stuck give me a shout and I can get my head around the diagrams and wire it up.

Well i had the day off work today, and after my dental appointment, was straight into the engine, today task was to remove the automatic gearbox. Which came off easy, along with the torque converter and ring gear. Now just awaiting the adaptor kit to bolt the 300zx gearbox upto it.

Also if anybody knows anyone with a stuffed 300zx Z32 gearbox will to sell parts or complete gearbox im interested as i need a couple components for my gearbox.

would love some but quite pricey at the moment, objective is to just get her in there and running and certed, then i can start looking at the next steps.

Well today was about removing parts that didnt need to be on the engine, which included removal of the starter motor, A/C Pump, and power steering pump. Then i had to pull the silvia out to nose it back in so i have access to get the fuel surge system all setup and mounted. Also gave me a chance to dumby test fit the engien in for clearances and whatnot, i couldnt sit it right in and down due to the alternator (which is being relocated with a Xcessive bracket and the oil filter is also looking to be in the way. Nothing major and easily sorted. Although has lleft me asking the question, should i chop the nose off and get it tubed up for easier installation or the new radiator and coolers? Would definately make things alot easier.

Furtherest its travelled in the last few months. With my daily driver in the background.

SO the other day i received my package from Xcessive Manufacturing which included my VH to VG Gearbox Adaptor Plate, Alternator Relocation Bracket, and my shifter relocator for the gearbox, including all the needed hardware and spacers.

Next on the table is the car and engine and box are off to get fitted with custom mounts and fabrication on the front subframe. Thats all booked for next week!

Well popped into the garage today to see the boys at TTT Engineering. To help out with the first step.

First was removing the SR factory engine mounts so new mounts can be made to adapt to the VH mounts.

After first fit found that the BMC and CMC had to go.

And after some shifting and moving got her roughly in position.

Now its on to getting the mounts made.

Found that a pulsar N14 BMC should do the trick for room with the issue of the standard one.

Im not sure, werent aware of different series engine, its a later model JDM VH45DE which has the newer remade metal chain guides instead of the plastic ones used in the eariler models. So I'd assume its a S2 engine? Cheers for all the positibe feedback, im looking at a complete 300zx for a parts car later this week coming. With more updates to come on the mounts and whatnot. =)

Sure if you want to pay for them, haha, not in my budget to do that at this stage, just want it up and running!

Its looking really good man. I look forward to seeing this up and running and at the track in the future.

that is one sick swap, strange how this big engine fits into :)

Yeah it is quite strange but awesome at the same time, found that we only have to pump the start of the trans tunnell alittle bit for the 300zx starter and clearance on passenger side. A dead blow hammer should sort that!
