How does one get promoted to the gradually growing special area? Lol

I guess you mean the VIP/Marshall/Passenger ride lane?

its no promotion , its just easier for us marshalls (that don't get paid) to dive out of when there is an issue on track or elsewhere than being stuck in the bunch.

Occasionally people have passenger rides to give for either drift racing passenger experiences etc , or sponsor rides to fulfil blah blah , they don't want to be awkwardly sat in the pack sometimes

But your not losing out on seat time at all don't fret.

As a newcomer this year to drifting i have now attended 4 of these drift days at pod during 2014. I think they're spot on. I found everyone to be helpful and approachable and encouraging. It's very well run and the recent improvements have made it even better. I also think they have got the balance just right in terms of the rules. I just wish they ran them more often as the tickets sell out fast so there's obviously high demand.
