Sr n/a drift

i have a tuned ecu chip for one out of my na when i converted it to turbo made 175 bhp it went well and lighten it right up,
if interested you can have it for £100, cams and an air filter happy days 45 bhp more which is a lot on an n/a.

I'm only going to spend money on upgrades I can keep when I turbo it
Cheers anyway

It did on mine but mines got an aftermarket mani and downpipe. That might be what made mine so loud.

Cool I'll give it a go anyway, loud is good
Cheers

Just been out in this and getting the hang of it, I find it easy to transition cause it helps keep momentum, but I find sometimes I drop out of the power band and start to straight'n up, should I dump the clutch to get the back out again or clutch in and lift the stick?

Just clutch kick again, and keep clutch kicking every time it does it! Not driven an NA SR20 powered car, but I imagine you'll struggle with 3rd, but 2nd should be fun and games the entire way through!

And strip as MUCH weight as you can. Seats, sound deadening, carpets, tools, spare wheel, random unnecessary brackets, useless wiring etc. Weight makes a huge difference.

Ok been a while since I first posted this, thanks for all the advice
It takes fair balls to get a good slide but it got easier,

I'm going to upgrade the brakes and get a hydro
Will a hydro lock up the rear on standard brakes with good pads?

Here's a recent snap

cheers lads, i put 30euro petrol which is about 22-23 litres and got about 220k with a small bit of hard driving, couldnt fault it, whats yours like?

Na Silvia

Hi There,

As Chunk Said Ive got an S14 na. I recommend strip it exhaust mani airfilter what the other guys said about tyres and pressures. Ive fitted Pon cams made a little difference I'm thinking lightened flywheel maybe lighter pulley but havent yet. 3rd gear drift is hard work I managed it at Mallory a bit but scary stuff.Although I believe the S14 Sr20de is 170bhp not 150bhp from the hours wasted finding out about na sr's:wave:

Would love to turbo mine but I keep driving mine hard and it still wants more. Most turbo drift cars wont make it to the track every week. And yes the rain dance Ive got down :D

Hi

The thing that i found to help is run your frount tyer persures at 30psi and the rears at 20psi it could help makes the car more slippy on the tarmac, allso strip some of the inside of your car to make it lighter , so you can shift the wait easyer.

i do hope you mean the other way round as less pressure means more grip !

Reviving an old thread but didn't fancy starting a new one...

Im currently building an S13 with an S14 VVT SR20DE - but I've also got an S15 Spec R 6 Speed box to go on it along with a 4:4 R180 Diff - so hopefully it'll be like an 86 through the gears and be nice and revvy - it'll be stripped out and as light as possible

I also plan to run 16"(maybe 15 if I can't find any decent 16s) wheels - and im removing power steering completely - opening the rack and removing the seals and fluid etc - should give better feel to the steering...

Plan is just to get as much seat time as possible once its built and hopefully it'll be nice and reliable!
