The Classic Ford magazine/Chizfab Scandinavian style Capri drift project

You didn't see it at its worst, as what was possibly the shittiest drift car in the world....
Imagine trying to drift a misfiring Reliant Robin backwards whilst wearing a blindfold.
That would have been easier than my Capri 3 years ago at Crail!

haha that is true, but even still mr chizfab has put some effort into this.

Sweet pics ade!

Yeah the comp. struts arent finished yet, got a few bits to finish/add including gussets etc before finish weld on front suspension, xmember needs work too. Also looking at possibly doing away with the Clevis assembly.

Good progress lately tho and those wheels are just mega!
i think tou may find the calipers wil hit the comp struts assem, you wil have to do what im doing and re position the calipers up/round!

keep up the work fellas ;)

so true its the worst car i have ever driven full stop. not for long though

so much capri love here too, they have always come out on top of mk1 and 2 escorts in my eyes. its like the escort was the family car and the capri was the sports car, yet they decided to rally and race the escort, made no sence to me,

love the way the cars coming along and cant wait to see the final result

Also looking forward to the outcome. If it turns out like that rendering then it'll be a seriously nice car. I say keep clear of the chrome and head for black/gold for sure. :)

For rally the Escort is by far better then the Capri, thanks to size and weight. On track the Capri has also seen alot of action.

That should look pretty trick as well! I've got fairly chunky Alfa Romeo 166 Brembos to go on. They'll need spacer brackets anyway, so I guess it'll be just as easy to mount them higher up....

My thoughts exactly. The basic design is so similar, and they share so many components its unreal.

Well it'll be getting more graphics, wide arches up to the swage line and possibly chrome bumpers.... still undecided on that though.

Progress on the Capri has slowed a little lately, but it's still coming along.
Most of the fab work has been done, including some quite elaborate work on the bulkhead and inner wings to accommodate the powerplant etc.

Currently the tunnel is being sorted, and next is the driver setup... ie, seat, pedals, wheel, hydro and gearshift positioning.

Chizfab's work is just amazing!!!!!!!! O__O! I know its probably not your thing and not really done here but with a car like this have you considered going for a shark nose?

Similar to this?

I'd need binoculars to judge front clips!
