The Classic Ford magazine/Chizfab Scandinavian style Capri drift project

Looks mental...

Posted this previously, but we organise 3 Drift N Grip days over here in Ireland under the Retro-Stock Theme. We would be delighted if you can make it over to one of our days.

I know of a few guys who plan on making the trip on Sun 23rd Sept Day…

Full on Retro Drifting… Great Fun to be had…

Yeah, I like the sound of that! :D
I plan to whore this car around literally everywhere when I can, so I'm sure it'll be over at some point!

I love capris, u are a hero to me :)

Haha, cheers man. Should be awesome when it's done.

Nice one Ade....

Looking forward to seeing this Capri over here....

The info below may help you. (Ps. My Own Capri made the front cover of Retro This Month. Happy Days)...

What are the dates for ‘Retro-Stock 2012’?
1). Sat 28th April 2012
2). Sat 2nd June 2012
3). Sun 23rd September 2012

How do I get to Mondello Park?
Mondello Park is situated 35 miles south of Dublin Port (Approx. 1hr of a drive)

Where would you recommend people stay for ‘Retro-Stock 2012’?
For those people who will require overnight accommodation, we have negotiated a rate with the Osprey Hotel in Naas (4 Star Hotel) of €95 PPS for one night B&B & 3 course evening meal for April & June’s track Days. The osprey hotel is situated 5mins from Mondello Park

If you require accommodation, contact the Osprey on 00 353 45 881111 and ask for the Retro-Stock Track Day Offer.

The bumper and grille might be just placed on, but it sure is good to see the Capri back with a face once again!
Didn't think I would, but the chrome is massively growing on me.... might not do the bumpers black after all.

Also Chizfab sorted out some ridiculous lock courtesy of a BMW E36 rack and custom strut brackets.

The Rally Design compression strut kit had to be redesigned to accommodate the lock....
No trade secrets here! All out in the open....

Back end is almost complete now.... Just some last cage extensions, then the fuel system needs to be accommodated for...

Also looking for a pair of 200SX T25 turbos if anyone has any?

Really have never liked these car's but man your's look's so so well sitting on those image wheel's, Looking forward to update's.

A friend of mine ran a simillar front setup on his sprint Fiesta and those bent arms just colapsed under hard braking.
Are you thinking about stiffening them up?

exactly what this man says, you WILL need to gusset/brace those compression/tension strut bars now you heve
bent them somewhat!!!
lock looks amazing!!
my lock is limited by calipers hitting arb so am trying to find some1 to machine so new caliper brks,
so bear that in mind too ade!!!!

The compression struts have been re-made from new tubing, so it's not the original bars that have been bent.

Will they work? Don't know! But they do look meatier in real life than in that pic.
Kyle, feel free to explain/defend your ideas... ;)

It really doesn't matter, if the bar isn't straight the force will bend it even more. The bar on the fiesta was beefier and the car weights only 900kgs still it collapsed on the first ride.
It would just be a shame to get the finished car damaged by this if you can prevent it.

It's great to see this car come on from the bare shell I used to see sitting at the yard, honestly can't wait to see this going, it's a good year for Chizfab, this, the m3 vert and the other projects happening this year. Other than this bit of awesomeness there's one project I'm looking forward to alot

Sweet pics ade!

Yeah the comp. struts arent finished yet, got a few bits to finish/add including gussets etc before finish weld on front suspension, xmember needs work too. Also looking at possibly doing away with the Clevis assembly.

Good progress lately tho and those wheels are just mega!

You didn't see it at its worst, as what was possibly the shittiest drift car in the world....
Imagine trying to drift a misfiring Reliant Robin backwards whilst wearing a blindfold.
That would have been easier than my Capri 3 years ago at Crail!
