Wanted WANTED: Bee R rev limiter

Holy shit thats cool  I'll have to hit you up for one of those after I get the front fenders lionel!

Then I can use my side exit to set light to cyclists!

They sound so cool :smokin:

I need to hear one in action again. Jord/Mitch - do yours flame too or just bang? Do they only bang when you bounce it off the limiter or what?

Is there any benefit to performance or do they just make the noise?

Dunno about there being 2 version, the one off Kenny's AE86 fits my SR20 though so who knows!

The 3 knobs are -

1.)Rev limit 1
2.)Rev limit 2 - wired to a switch such as handbrake so for :euge:drag:euge: you can get the turbo spinning on the line so your on boost right away.
3.)Gain - harshness of the cut, set it at 10 to kill engine quickley, 1 for nice occasional cracks and bangs, mine flames alot at 3/4.

Apparently on SR20's they can blow out the classic manifold/turbo gasket quicker than usual but its so much fun I dont care :D

Hmmmm...interetsing....will pass on that info to a buddy of mine??

so what way have you Rev 1 and 2 set??
could Rev 2 not be useful on the ebrake aswell for drifting somehow??? different strokes for drag and drift?

Cheers!

Yeah mine flames and bangs, a bang usually indicated a flame too :D Its basically a harder cut than the stock rev limiter and it cuts ignition so unburnt fuel gets into the exhaust. I've got mine set to 7k rpm.

I was thinking about setting mine to the handbrake but not sure what it would be like in drift, say I was on 7k rpm and hand the handbrake switch set to 5krpm and yanked the handbrake up, it would jolt the engine back to 5krpm which probably isn't good for it. Might just set the second limit up to a dash switch for showboating at lower revs :D

jord wouldn't it be better to set the limit as 6400? as that's were max power is on JDM Q's and K's. After 6400 you've got no power curve.

the omex one looks like it does exactly the same thing, but with more accurately rpm setup, i.e. not 500 rpm increments...

Zenki, 6500rpm felt too low when accelerating hard. I have an Apexi turbo and it pulls well all the way to the limiter now.

just had a call with omex.
thats EXACTLY what the omex one does, only difference is you don't get to set the gain. It just reads your rpm and limits it accordingly... So no big pops and bangs, just small ones...

fair enough, I didn't realise you had a uprated tubby :smash:

I think It'll pop pretty good in combination with a atmo BOV :)
but the omex one is more for sport than for show...

yeah Bee*R will bang without a BOV. the bigger the bang, the bigger the damage to your turbo :) Bee*R is more of a flame kit than a rev limiter if u ask me...

it just cuts the spark...
and the longer you cut the spark, the more fuel in your exhaust... the more fuel in your exhaust (to an extent) the bigger the bang !
