Welding an open diff for S13

It's just late and I was getting the words you used mixed up in context.

I was referring more to the "end up in a ditch" comment.

Just thinking about that, the reason mine is all over the place on a bumpy road is probably not down to the diff, its probably down the the realy short springs on standard shocks.

Do you drive daily on a welded diff?

Every day, day in, day out, I'm even driving on a welded diff with screwed shocks at the moment.

Aside from people thinking I'm a prat in car parks, it's ace, gentle and predictable. I'm sure it'll be your shocks etc making it nasty, if the car is bumpy anyway and breaks traction all the time, it'll make it worse I guess.

Well, use 6+mm part worns for £25 ish a pop fitted, and it won't eat tyres anyway, not unless you go sideways everywhere or drive everywhere at 5mph zig zagging left right left right on full lock.

I had P6000s on the back and they didn't squeal at all, I've now got some bridgestone RE36s or something and they squeal a fair bit, but I think it's just because the rubber needs scrubbing in, they've not been used in a while.

its just i have some alloys for the road, which will cost loads to keep replacing tyres and i have loads of standard rims for drifting which i cam get pritty cheap rubber for,

i don't want to keep muching expensive tyres on the road from normal driving,

obviously if i happen to go sideways then tyre ware is expected.

That's not the point mate. It won't munch tyres that fast, and find a pukka part worn place and get decent tyres cheap.

I got a set of 4 P6000s for £25 each fitted and balanced, and on my pikey travels I got 2 Bridgestone ER30s fitted and balanced in a job lot of tyres yesterday, which if worked out, cost me about 50p each.

These are ROAD tyres too, not crappy drift tyres, I'm the same as you and I have 8 spare drift 15 inch rims.
