Whats annoying you today?

Also, while I'm angry, why can't the staff in Halfords just learn how to do thier fucking job? I tell you a car and a part I need for it, you either sell me the part of say you can't get it. Do not tell me the car I have parked outside doesn't exist, I know it exists, I've sat in it.

+1 to this. The weekend staff are usually better cos they know if the get it wrong (which is usually the case) when you come back in you can't shout at them, so at least they try. The weekday staff don't like it cos they'll be in the firing line. The problem is... Halfords don't pay enough for any useful staff to hang around for long.

It won't help, you'll just get used to it within a few days then it'll still do stuff wrong all the time.

I've been getting upgraded CAD workstations since 1990. Unless it wakes you up with coffee and toast in bed at about noon and tells you in a quiet voice that it's finished your work for the week and you can go back to sleep then it's still going to end up frustrating the hell out of you.

Even then it would burn the toast. Or crash during a save and corrupt the file. Or constantly do one of those fillet operations that turns your complex model in to just a 2mm sphere. Or decide that a tangent connection is asymptotic and try to count to infinity before doing the next thing.

Even at the top things aren't great - I did an Airbus training course, and the workstations were amazing. For the first hour. Then they were annoyingly slow. I finished the course early and had half a day to kill at the end - I designed a working cylinder head from cores, through the casting to the machined part in less than four hours. In 1990 it took that long to add a drawing note.

Humans adapt too quickly to new technology, then it bores us. Spoilt, that's what we are.
