E36 compact // JZX100 Chaser daily

So been to another drift day, not insuring or taxing it so trailered it there.
Got a sport front end on.

No good photos of me skidding as the car was playing up which turned out to be a dodgy earth. Got it sorted with help and then had a trouble free day. Lots of seat time and I improved no end.

Last one of the year so it's time to do some upgrades for start of next year. First up, matching sport rear bumper, the rest I'm keeping under my hat.

Few more bits.
16x8 et0 with meaty tyres, arches had a good roll to fit. Ride height needs fiddling with a bit now.

Love this snap

New E46 bottom arms and 60mm power flex bushes to go on.

Just need 4mm rack spacers to finish the parts up front. And rear stud and nut conversion in the near future!

Rack spacers arent expensive but We'v a set we can chuck your way off our car if you want them.

Just pop is a PM with your address and I'll fire them in the post Jay

PM'ed.

Picked up some studs to do a stud and nut conversion on the rear too. Going to be a busy winter. Once all this is on it'll be time to save up and buy a Forester of some kind to tow the thing around.

So i've pulled my finger out.

Got the bushes onto the arms, keeping in mind these are e46 arms and e46 bushes, you'd think they'd go on further…

So I got the grinder out and chopped up the arms a bit further, pressed them on further and low and behold they fit.

Waiting on a few more bits to turn up. tie rods etc but progress is progress.

I attended my third drift day yesterday. This was this first one where I really felt comfortable in the car & had 0 issues - other than it getting a bit hot in the afternoon.

The car is now running E46 lower arms, E46 polybushes, E92 inner tie rods, stock outers, adjustable camber top mounts, 4mm DW rack spacers, ARB delete, Unique Customs front over fenders, Extreme Offset 16x8 et0 front wheels. I've also fitted on OMP rep steering wheel.

By the end of the day I was linking big figure of 8s and trying to get the grips of tight transitions. Very pleased with how the car and I performed, few more bits to do before the next one though to try and keep it cooler. The little 1.9 did me proud!

Oh and here is a video. Yes I know you can't see outside, terrible camera settings….

Spot the cone bashing...

Great seats. Had them in the mx5 when I used it as a daily for a year and they're comfy and hold you tight. Got them from Merlin Motorsport I think. Need harnesses now to keep me in place more.

I miss skidding my standard compact had to be on it to keep it going.
Quite like the front overs how much are they?

Cool, what they like size wise? My dad may drive it occasionally when I'm away at Uni and he's not the slimmest of blokes

Nice one cheers.
Just keep drifting the small engine till it dies then upgrade.
That's the plan. Need to find a way of keeping it cooler though. Can only find decent ally rads for M3's though - will it fit?

My dad drove this on sunday and was fine getting in and out.of them, I'm a 32" waist and have a bit of room either side - not a gap but I don't have to force myself in by any means.

Yeah same as me then. Dads more into the 40"+ range but just use it to bribe him into losing weight haha

Does the car still have the viscous fan and cowling fitted?
Mine took abuse, was only when I fitted the m50 I had to take the bonnet off to stop temps creeping.
Have you fitted a new water pump and thermostat?
The m3 rad will fit but needs a header tank fitted as it only has two ports.

Not done anything engine wise. Still 100% stock and has all the cowling etc. I think a water pump and thermostat may be a good investment.
