How drifting SHOULD look.

If you want a laugh, check the two last cars on this one out - fucking sheds, the paid of em :D

I've never understood that forum, someone has made a website dedicated to posting pictures of other peoples shit cars, very childish! In the case of the liner and s15 though there obviously not shit cars.

It's a very pathetic forum and I would love to see the cars that people on there drive, can't imagine they're anything exciting.

car, drift, style, custom and old school porn all in one. Soooo kool though, Id like to see more skid pick ups on the uk tracks practice or race day, there bad ass.

IMO it all comes down to your budget. Drifting is so affordable as a motor sport that your going to get people in £300 "missiles" (hate the word) showing up more and more as the sport gains exposure and becomes main stream. This isn't to say i think it should be an elitest culture full of £6k+ s bodies, but sadly the cost of a nice drift car in the UK is becoming silly. I completely agree with many comments on here that as a viewer i don't want to see a certain style of car or driving. But then that isn't down to that person bringing his/her car, this is down to not enough media coverage releasing good content. There are some REALLY good photographers out there putting out quality content from events, often for free! But a real lack of great videographers documenting things, infact i can maybe think of 10 off hand in the UK thats it.

I think the answer is to hold more invite only events that showcase one side of the sport and just accept as the sport gains in popularity, it will also become very over diluted with watered down imitations. Let the people who want to banger race sideways do so, but instead of everyone arguing on the internet maybe people should be productive and pick up a camera or recreate what final boss achieved at a few more events across the UK.

It's nothing to do with budget.

Most the cars that look like total AIDS in the UK have had mega mega bucks spent on them, far more than the ones in the vids.

And if you haven't got mega bucks, just follow the rule that surely anyone who isn't special needs should understand- "Don't modify your car and make it look shitter than standard".
People seem to think making a cheap beater/missile/whatever look way more shit than standard is a good thing.

Agreed a lot of big budget cars are not to my taste either, but i just don't bother watching BDC rounds tbh. But that brings with it a whole argument about form/function...

I don't think its always the case they aim to make it look shitter, just that they are trying to imitate what they perceive to be cool, and with that come dilution and watering down. They might think a wheel is cool but don't have a clue about offset or fitment. Again they might think a low car is cool but have no clue how to go about it. They want a style that looks like the guy they saw in a video but don't know how to get it or don't have the money to get it.

For me i couldn't care what the BDC cars are doing as i don't want to own one or drive one daily. I like the car that has no sponsors or styleless stickering and rocks up to a skid event, unpacks, looks cool the whole time, performs great and drives home after without looking like its been to a destruction derby.

The problem is its "hardcore" or this whole "haters gonna hate" thinking that's going on atm.

There was some yellow e36 that used to attend Norfolk that I kid you not would have made essex arena cars look clean.

The guy was a fucking retard that acted like he was king, wwhen in actual fact they wouldn't let him in the 'a' lane because he was so dangerous and basically shit.

So what did he do? Drive head on into a mates mx5, so malx banned him, because the bloke got out the car and then basically told the mx5 driver to do one when he asked for help pushing his car off the track

That right there is the kind of fucking morons that attend drift days and have this kind of attitude to drifting..

There are some guys who go to the track in banger cars, and keep to themselves. Each to their own.

There are others who need to show you they can run the same as your nice well prepped car. These are the guys that worry me. These aren't limited to clapped out saloons, beat up skylines can be bangers to it seems.I kinda think, you might not give a shit, but I do.
I try to make sure I'm on track with like minded people.

For me its this. Drifting is an action/extreme sport based off style. (You cant win drifting by a mechanical mechanism, its style, its judged). Style is subjective and its not what you do but how its done.

Let the shit cunts be shit cunts and do what ever the fuck it is that YOU want to but just remember drifting is about pushing yourself to the limits with your driving and repping your style to the fullest so if you're falling behind in one of those categories dont get cut when people aren't on your dick

Can't worry about it.

Just frustrating when people spend ££££'s and their car still looks terrible.

But, you kinda need ugly cars to appreciate a nice clean car every now and again.

Take Ton-kin's old 13. Looking back it looks hideous but at the time we used to buzz over it. He learnt over time now his 32 is legit.

Also, just a random point about watching Japanese stuff. There are a million cool cars out there, but some would look gay in the uk.
Just my own opinion. They Suit the craziness of Japan.

Just keep it fun!!!

WHEELS, FITMENT, LOWS, SKIDS, TITTIES, FOOD

loads of ppl hate my car :) and i love it, as long as i like it and use it for what its for why should i care? all my money go's into it no garage as helped or told me what i have to put on the car. drifting seems to be going into a life styler type scene, and yes low low cars cant handle as well as a well set up height car this is fact

You win if you have fun , and don't care what people think.

You lose if you get upset at anyone who is the above.

Thing is, the skill levels in UK drifting, even in the same 'class' in comps, never mind practice days, is SO widespread, that's not a big deal.

Tons of well setup cars sucking total ass even compared to 'badly' setup lesser spec cars.

Drifting is packed full of bellends, there's no question there.

You lose if you get upset at anyone who is the above.

These two quotes above are the most realistic quotes I've seen about drifting in the two years I've been doing this.

What annoys me is the whole missile car and the bell ends want to talk shite constantly about drifting. I havent got time for either.

You drift what you can afford and keep it in the best shape you can and have fun. Having fun isn't sticking your car in the wall or into someone else's car.
