Minty.Fresh JZX100 Chaser

looks pretty good as is

last year in my 180 everyone was like raise it raise it to get a better alignment setup but i was like no.. weak!!!

this year with the soarer i raised it to get a better tyre contact for skidding - best thing i did!!!

too much rear camber is just wank and looks wank
too much front camber is still cool-ish if it has a purpose and not just a honda hard parking ;)

All those cars are 100% impractical for the real world/road though mint. They look impressive, but I would rather be able to go out, smoke some chump in a flash car on the road without loosing my exhaust, arches, pain, body panels while I do it. Maybe thats why I don't do super low? I enjoy my car as more than just a drift car....either that or I must not be hardcore enough

Just know that in almost everyone's eyes who will look at this thread, the Chasers current ride height is fucking SPOT ON! You don't really have arch gap, you can see some tyre, if your tyres are ultra low profile, go up one and see if it makes any sort of "gap" look less so.

Thanks Rubix :) See to be 100% honest with you, I havent reeeeeally seen it in daylight yet. It was dark when i was finished last night and dark/raining this morning so I ran to the car and havent seen the car since 5am this morning lmao. :p I only have these above pics to go by.

Im done work in T-Minus 1 hour.. I cant WAIT to drive it again lol.

I have to drive 25miles home to pick up D's sister..
25 miles BACK to Aberdeen to pick up Herman and go to Hospital..
Then 25 miles back home to drop them off..
Then back in again at 6pm with someone else the hospital
Then back home again in time for bed to wake up at 4am to drive 25 miles back to town... :S

your not hardcore enough :) those cars posted at impractical for the UK because the kits hang so low. you can still have a decked car over here and drive it hard. just need some man pills mint :)

can you not get rear camber arms to sort out the alignment once its slammed?

stop bloody raising it mint!!!! hammer yourself some clearance instead. when fitting 18's you should never be able to see tyre!!!

:D :smokin:

So your willing to ruin your perfectly good arches for "cool" points..... The car looks great as it is bud. I bet 99% of people would agree, going lower will just make it drag its arse everywhere and take the enjoyment out of driving it hard or the road.

Super low cars should stick to hardparking. I'm all for functional low.

 ;)

What he said ^^

Cars looking awesome Mint, and i get where people are coming from, but guessing by what you say, your like me (Norfy, struggle, Dex etc) and for no reason at all love your car touching the floor every where, theres no good reason for it, its just AWESOME lol Keep up the good work, proper lows take alot of hammering and welding, but its worth it in the end.

Also I think in terms of on the road practicality, its very individual, i've always used my cars very hard, and used them daily, with out problems, while other would find it impossible.

shame you had to raise it, i say, more bashing and lower. what about camber adjustments?
People tell me all the time i cant drive as low as mine is, no? how did i get there then? i fucking daily'd for 2 months.
It should be so low, that people think you're crazy, and then a little lower!

lol Mark the hero :worthy:. ALL my cars are stupid low, hell my crack-ass daily micra is on the end of its shocks, and people say its low but i still think its high.

Its a mindset really, i dont mind slowing down for speedbumps, or throwing sparks all over the place all the time. Is it "good" for my car? offcourse not, but im driving a 25 year old piece-of-shit s13. Then again, would i do this to a mint s15? FUCK YES i would. i just love stupid low cars!

And yes, i've bashed/cut/welded ALOT to get mine at this height, it rubs in places i literally cannot fix by modding stuff, unless i replace my shock towers etc.

hhhhhhaha I think thats going to be my new sig lol

lol Cheers Dex  ha ha I'm the same currently rolling around in an 04 A8, which is on its arse :smokin:

Thats the perfect way of explaining it really (and that bit about a mint S15 watch this space ;) )

I've always based it on the fact i move all 'important' things up and tucked out the way, so i know when its hitting the road its only the chassis rails or ARB (if one can fit between the road and the car lol)

Im with mark and dex smash it with the clearance makin stick then the lowerin stick

ha ha done that too

Its all about driving, smashing shit out the way, then driving, then smashing shit again out the way, then driving, then realising you smashed shit a bit too much, which is followed by welding overly smashed shit, then realising you've created more clerance, so you now cut your springs, and the cycle continues ;)

But each time you drive your car, you'll look like a mental badass :smokin:

Thanks everyone :D Glad to see others with the similar low mind set. :)

Its weird being able to get over speed bumps again; I havent done a whole lot of checking but I believe you need to buy some kind of rear camber adjustment arms for it; as far as I know there more money than I can afford at the moment lol. Which sucks.

The front has started scraping again but I have had nil time to actually do anything about it.. might get a spare minute today to play with it.

The one thing that always bugged me about chaser's was that they dont look 'wide' enough. You cant just get over fenders for them though which I find odd.. as you get them for the JZX90 and the JZX100 MarkII and Cresta so I wonder if its a case of getting MarkII ones and making them fit.. or making my own.. OR just cut, weld and shape..

Either or I have alot of other stuff I need to sort out before hand.. REALLY want these 110 arms on and I want to get some practice in before NDC but its not going to happen :S been a year now since I drifted this thing proparly on track O___O hmm.. dont expect any miricales for round 3 hahaha.

I'll be getting over fenders for mine in the near future so you can line them up against your car if you want and see how they fit.

yep! my engine is raised and got an aftermarket front arb with hangs lower. no matter how hard or long it hits the road its just a piece of metal which can be replaced if needs be.

you'd be surprised how low you can run cars and still skid them. mine whacks large cats eyes with the subframe and ARB but when your skidding its fine. pulls the front end up. yeh the rear wheels scrub on the rear inner arch but not badly enough to make it a problem.

the ride heigh can make or break a car. this looked better decked on those tatty wheels than it does raised up on these new pimpin ones. get down with it mint! :D

The sun was shining, so we washed it.

Too early to type boring crap.

Car looks awesome mate!. I noticed that about the rear fenders only for the Mark II & Cresta aswell.

What about doing something like this? It's on a Mark II but you get the idea.
