Northern drift championship teesside autodrome 24/25th march

And how many rounds do you have to attend? etc etc

As i said yesterday, I don't think you HAVE to attend a certain number of rounds. Remember its a fun series not the most serious stuff! :)

Anth as said, I do know who the judges are but i'm not saying anything until Jennifer/David do.

as most arnt happy with the classes mainly lower two can i suggest a bhp class

so lowest class is limited to say: 200bhp, next class: 350bhp and last class keep for the licensed drivers

just a thought and most folks car roughly work out what power they have give or take a few ponies???

Amateur should be 250 if doing it by power coz a standard sr20 is 200 and don't know anyone with a standard SR in their cars, it's not all about power too, people are awesome in ae86's but they'd be put in amateur class? Still needs some thought

Actually, heres a one. Say if you run the lower 2 classes by BHP (which I dont see is a good idea).....what happens if you run say 220 at first for a round or two and then last two rounds your car is running 300 or so.

Just a thought

yer i just chucked those figures from top of my head...

tbh i dont see many 86's skidding from when ive been to pod, norfolk and most recently lydd...

reason i said 200 for lower class is because the op has mentioned like no mods for that class so imo 200 would be a nice cap for low powered s13's, and most bmw's - the most common of skid cars we see :D

move up a class

Guys. As has been said - Jen and David are changing class rules. Bare with them. Remember David works full time at the autodrome & jennifer is a full time mummy of 5!

Just hold up a little bit & the full details of each class will be revealed very shortly :)

im not keen on bhp figure - mainly because ill have around 500 and cant drift for shit (serious!)

an idea would be people to nominate which category they should go in and for judges to monitor the practice day - its obvious that someone constantly smoking the place out isnt an amateur.

Yea the bhp thing is worse than the mods, I'd be chucked in with semi pros cause I run near 300 from my BMW v8 and I'm kack. I'm sure David and jen will have the classes sorted properly though

My 2p:

As you're having two days for this, and the first is practice, could you have a 'judged' first day? People have all the practice runs as normal, but the judges sort them into the classes based on their performance/consistency on the first day?

This is awesome, regardless. Fingers crossed it's run in 2013 too!

Yep, that would be the best bet, makes it fair on everyone. Just dont deliberately have a shit day to get in a lower class. Maybe like BDC, top 4 each round get to compete in next class up aswell, so top 4 semi pro's in round 1, would compete in semi and pro's in round 2 etc.

For me, if ya have a BDC license, you should be in Pro, Semi Pro should be for ppl without a license, and who can link the National track consistently, Amateur for the others, ppl who cant link it without spinning or straightening up.

I did hear a whisper on who the judges are. ;)

What about if you can only attend one day (like the first practice day in march) would you be able to do it for half the price as I might not be able to do both days, army commitments in prep for herrick 17??

Cheers

Will

I am also interested in this, but didnt want to ask cos I know I'd never make a full event! But even just for the fun of it?...

I would expect they to be other practice days you can attend.

If its gonna be a "proper" championship, then surely only ppl who can attend both days should attend.
