Northern drift championship teesside autodrome 24/25th march

GB/John there is other days I could attend but this is alot closer than any other drift days I've looked at and as I've said due to be goin to Afghanistan again and would like to get a decent go driftimg again but on a proper track, surely there are similar people to me but they can't do the Saturday but could do the Sunday so surely that would fill my vacant spot, with them doing the Sunday??

Yeah fair one if you want it to be all about the championship but surely not everyone will always be able to book every day off work??

How can you do a Sunday, when everyone there will be competing, as that is the competition day. Unless they will open up the west track for none competing drifters. Just depends on no's of ppl entering I would guess. I wasn't on about other venues, bound to be other none competing dates at Teesside throughout the year.

This is great news guys cant wait im gunna try my hardest to attend them all as for the classes ive only been to 3 drift days but have a car that would make me in semi pro but heres a thought for the 2 lower classes. why dont you judge the practice days and divide them up by skill im sure callum would love to be the judge while hes marshalling lol

lol at above

callum get yourself in the drivers SEAT ITs GUNNA be wicked

No I mean both I could quite possibly do other events like the ones at pod etc etc but seen as teeside is like a hour to hour and half away it is the closest to me in York!

Paul_88 I guess I could always do another practice day like the ones being run on 24th 25th march that way I would be paying the whole 120 pound but just saving one of the days for another weekend that I could commit too.

Or Army depending I could do the whole weekend and if the classes are made less strict then I could compete in a novice class??

You cheeky twat John! I know the basics of judging alright actually :)

Deno - It's money that's my problem. BMW probably won't be on the road again 'til May time now :(

You will never pick a way to split cars/drivers that suits everybody... My imperfect but simple suggestion, for what it's worth:

Class 1:
4 cylinder non-turbo cars, all mods permitted.
Other cars (V6/V8/turbo etc...) with no adjustable suspension parts - i.e. no adjustable top mounts, coilovers etc...
Drivers with no/limited competition experience.

Class 2:
Turbo and 6/8 pot cars, all mods permitted.
Drivers with no/limited competition experience.

Class 3:
All cars with experienced driver & a rollcage that want to compete in twin drift.
Would recommend drivers are assessed in a practice run first to confirm they are up to spec?

Doing it on cars/mods is totally pointless. Needs to be done on talent, that is the only fair way.

Amateur - people who cant link the track without straightening or spinning
Semi Pro - people who can link the whole track - inc people with BDC license who have not competed
Pro - those with a BDC/JDM license who have competed within the BDC/JDM

Maybe like BDC, top 4 each round get to compete in next class up aswell, so top 4 semi pro's in round 1, would compete in semi and pro's in round 2, and top 4 amateurs in round 1 would compete in amateur and semi's in round 2.

It would be great to organise something like this at Lydden Hill. Teesside is too far for me!!

how about turbo class and NA class....simples want to go in the lower class go in the NA...

Nope, pointless again, ppl in both classes wont be able to link it, so they got no chance of qualifying so will get bored and not bother coming back. Gotta cater for all talents, keep ppl who cant link it in 1 group regardless of what they drive has got to be the best way.
