Well not everyones as good as you then, the car fell off the jack. Just because it hasnt happend to you doesnt mean it cant happen, or can it? nobody asked you to comment.

and you are? do you know what a diff is?

you got a clue what your talking about. cars dont fall off a jack because you jack them on a diff fool. it obviously fell over because it wasnt jacked up properly, which it would of done no matter where its jacked up.

unless your going to tell the several thousand members on here that jack up on the diff that there wrong?

We was working out how to build one like that, and theres our answer! But thats ok for home work, not ideal to take to DWYBs for wheel changing, lol.

There are two long'n'low wooden ramps at DWYB that Steve Uras built for us :worthy:- you are welcome to borrow them if you get stuck dude

Jack.. (sniggers at the relevance of the name) calm down mate. I have actually seen cars fall off a jack myself and the people jacking them haven't been complete retard window lickers either. I've had a car fall off a jack twice and no I'm not a retard. So cool it down a bit yeh because to be honest... who are you anyway? ;)

ive seen cars fall off jacks as well taff. cars that have been jacked up incorrectly. everyone makes mistakes.

read back on what it was i was commenting on, the guy was saying a car fell off a jack "because it was jacked on the diff" and that you shouldnt which is bollocks!

im someone whose built several cars and work on them for a living, so i know a thing or two about jacking cars up!

You never told me. Pretty much every event up there ends with me wandering the carpark, trying to find something to drive the back of the S13 onto to get the wheels off.

I think I used the bottom of one of those Heras fences last time :wack:

well, i think someones tired. And when you say "and you are?" what does this mean princess? Is it because im new to all this and you quite obviously the master keeper of all which is drift? The fact of the matter is you slate everyone on her just because they have different views to you, so if you dont like something or you dont agree you no what you can do. and do you think you could give me an email just to show me what a diff is please cos i need your help baaaaaaaha.

Sorry, but when you have to resort to picking holes in peoples grammar you are obviously struggling.

Bottom line is that 99% of those of us that actually drift jack the back of their of theirs cars off the diff, and very few have had difficulties. This goes for 30+ people at each Santa Pod day, so along youve probably got over 1500 "jackings" there, without incident.

Jack is right - there is no problem with jacking a car off the diff if you do it right. The same as streteched tyres and welded diffs, which the rest of the worls seems to think are worse than plague. Actual experience > internetz.

I'm just getting tired of the way things are said to people I guess.. the "and you are?" and "do you know what a diff is?" comments are my main problem. I'm singling you out as an example but you're by no means the only person to post comments like that. It may be the superiority complex that comes with increasing postcounts with some forum members I don't know.:wack:

Sorry to use you as an example.. but your post was the first I'd seen today with that sort of comment. Don't worry I'll be picking up on other similar posts by others as and when I see them.. Everyone is an equal on here until they do some properly retarded shit (Kyle, Badboyazza etc etc) so treat them as equals.. don't belittle them for having a different opinion to yours. He didn't think it was a good idea to jack the car on the diff.. and you jumped on him with wtf's and "this thread is so gay" etc etc.. Think about it eh.;)

not really mate. im crap at drifting compared to most people on here. and im not having a huge argument on the subject.

its nothing to do with having a "different view to me" i get pissed off when people write views that are a load of bollocks, as someone else will read it and think the same.

nothing wrong with being new to the scene, but when i corrected you on the fact that you were wrong, if it was me id think "oh ok, maybe i dont know enough about the subject, ill take some advice from someone who knows more than me about it" instead of getting the arse.

like ive said. ive jacked up probably close to a thousand times on a diff, as has most people i know, and it hasnt fallen on me because i make sure i do it correctly. if you genuinly think what im saying is wrong, then feel free to correct me.

thats fine taff, i admit, i have far too much time on my hands and am a complete k1 superstar.

but as i said, and doc also, its just very annoying when someone starts writing things that are factually innacurate because they heard a myth on the internet, like welded diffs, etc and try and argue against people who have actual experience.

and tbh, a 5 page thread on how to jack a car up, is a bit gay!

Yes, I know, its massively frustrating when you read things that aren't 100% correct but you can respond to them without belittling the original poster thats what I'm getting at. :D

I do agree though that 5 pages on jacking a car is mental.

I have jacked cars up off the diff many times, im not saying anyone is wrong to do that im just saying what happened. Have you seen a car fall on to anyone? A diff has the structural integrity to take the weight of the car no props, they dont have but IN MY OWN VIEW i dont think it has significant stability. it will cause problems which i have seen for myself. and jack i have 7 years of building & racing cars but what the f**k do i know. I wouldlove to meet you at a drift day so you could share your views in person but i doub you would do that it easier to do in online!

My friends diff casing cracked on his Scooby after jacking it up on the diff. He did jack it on the seal between the backplate and the main casing.

ok. well you entitled to your view.

i dont get what you mean at all by not having stability? its solid metal, its solid mounted to the car, and doesnt move. id say thats pretty stable.

also the majority of drift cars are dirty old 20 year old nissans, you try put a jack anywhere else, itll normaly go straight through the floor!

out of interest, where exactly are you suggesting you would jack up the rear of a car thatd be safer?

no need for the gay "id love you to share your views in person" because i have no problems sharing my views to anyone mate.
