RB20 Coilpacks

ok, I've got a question...

about the instructions :)
In line 4 it says : To power the coil run the fat white wire from the 3 pin plug. This supplies the power to the coil...

Which 3 pin plug is this? Fitting the kit tomorrow, just wondering about this...

pleeeeaaaase help ;)

was peice of piss to do ,changed my plugs at the same time :) & get more flames from exhaust on gear change

I don't recall having that plug on my engine...

I've got an RB25 in my S13, maybe I have got different plugs ?
If I don't have the plug, what +12V source can I use ?

these fit RB 20/25/26

A pic of old gtr coil pack loom , you got 2 main connectors you need ,the ignitor plug (big one )& the main loom 3 wire one ,& 2 earth wires joined together with washer type connector to bolt to ignitor mounting to earth (black wires at the top centre of pic) its easy peasy mate

Yours is an RB25 series 1 engine/loom with the ignitor pack, correct??

yes it is, but the loom is somewhat chopped up, cause I don't have the little loop on the back that you can use to check timing...

I've already been told I can use the +12v feed from the S13's IGN coil relay, so will use that

Will post the results here, ofcourse :)

I have the same problem as -WJ- i only have two plugs, one with six wires and one with two wires.
Have you got a picture you can post/send over?
If the 2 wire plug has a big fat white wire, this will be the power wire to use

I just fitted a set to an R32 GTR, took about and hour and a half and has cured my high boost missfire. Lovely :dw:

urgent help needed !!!

ok, wanted to fit the kit today, and more mystery !!!

My engine : (rb25det series 1 ?)

my ignitor : (note : only 6 wires, on the ignitor to coilpacks side, no ground!)

and finally my coilpack loom (see, only 6 wires, and the 2pin plug with the big white wire has been found...)

Does this mean I can't fit the kit :( ?

No, it means it's easier :)

In the last picture you posted, the plug with the pink/stripey wires is the trigger wires for the 6 cylinders. You can see the cylinder numbers on the ignitor.
The fat white wire on the other plug is the main 12V+ power for the coils. The black wire there is for the earth, so join it to the engine block or somewhere like that.

You run the fat white wire to one side of all 3 coil channels, then you join the pink wires into their pairs (1+6, 2+5, 3+4) and put each pair onto the other side of each coil channel.
