Saab engined Audi S4 (page 18)

Monday morning update!

Really wanted a floor mounted pedal box - was going to get an OBP box because the cost of them is pretty good but the one I REALLY wanted was the Tilton box because they look proper swish. Problem is they cost a bomb :(

3mm plate and several cutting discs later.....

The Mrs just text me to let me know she's going out tonight so it looks like I'll be free to make the last pedal  WIN

Properly impressive! :worthy:

Can't wait to see this finished, it's great how you're making as much as you can, and the quality is awesome!

Those wheels look fantastic. I'd gone off banded steels, but they really suit your car. Are you based in Portsmouth by any chance? I'm sure I've seen this car driving through the city

weight i guess, still tho, looks like an excellent job iv always thought doing a tilton style pedal box would be a cool thing to do :D

That tilton looks to be made of 2mm thick stuff anyway, you dont want weedy pedals.

Probably no heavier than most factory cars pedal's, theyre all chunk!

Very nice work Andy, which I had your patience!

Almost everything is going to be made in house where ever possible because to me my labour is free. I've got plenty of time but never enough money!

Cheers for the compliment! I am indeed. Live in Havant, work in Hilsea and pick up the Mrs from in the city centre. Pretty sure I've seen your car about too...

Wow, can you make me a pedal like that too please? It's awesome!
I'd be able to yes but I don't think I would. To begin with I wouln't want them to fail on you (not that I think they will - just for my own peace of mind) and because of how long they've actually taken me to make - I've got a million other things I need to do first! Perhaps I'll consider it once the project is finished - if you can wait that long!!

3mm plate... Why on earth?
Like Hudson responded... Why not? If you're implying that they're overkill I'm happy to sacrifice a few extra grams on a brake pedal that is going on a non servo assisted performance car. It's not something I want to fail really!

Thanks!

These pedals aren't particularly heavy to be honest. Perhaps I should add that I can get 3mm plate from work for free? lol.

I'm very happy with them, I don't think they're bad considering I'm just an office boy who sits in front of a PC all day :P

More toys :D

You need to get stuff bolted up soon so you/we can find out exactly where those wheels fit in the arches!

No worries on the pedal front, I'd love something further forward sometime though, you just cannot heel-toe in the rex, and it's frigging annoying! (It's not necessary, but I'm in the habit of doing it!)

Just had an arrival from CompBrake. Only bought 2 master cylinders, a clevis and balance bar so I can get measurements to finish up the pedal box. I'll order the rest of the bits once its all done (and I've got the money!) however this is what arrived...

I got a balance bar ADJUSTER instead of the balance bar itself! Double checked my order and invoice and sure enough I ordered the right part numbers - Whoever packed it must have read balance bar and just grabbed the adjuster (I guess the balance bar itself is a rare order because they come with pedal boxes).

Not too much of a problem because I intended to have a dash adjuster anyway but I wanted the balance bar so I could get the master cylinders in the right positions to finish the box. Ah well!

Hopefully the weather this weekend will be ok. I've decided to grow some balls and introduce the angle grinder to the chassis.... Its been a long time coming :):smash:

Lets hope they send out the balance bar as well not, free carriage of course!

I'm handing 2 of my wheels over on sunday btw, hopefully collect them the week after. 9.5J for me, still gives an offset of 0!

OMG! Don´t stop please!!!
I loved the work done with those wheels, top class job, as I said keep updating the thread!! :D

Cheers.
