Sam's new Drift car. JDM haters stay away :)

So when i'm driving to a bdc evt in teeside or something

You know something we dont?

Awsome car m8, i love how nice and clean your dash is going to be, i think you have inspired me to do the same to the 24v and even put front half carpet back in :D keep up the work m8 looks cracking

Also, does anyone know who to speak to to get the radio code?

edit: It's kenwood, would they provide it if I call them?

i think if you want to reset the radio code you need a code that whoever brought the radio got given because otherwise thieving scum could just nick the radio then call up for the code:mad:

Nice car tho:thumbs::thumbs:

Teeny tiny update. :)

Have spent all day working on the interior of the car. Removing sound deadening, and sorting my wiring out.

No after pics, as it was too dark when I finished. But here are the before pics. :)

Also had a bit of a weird moment with the gearstick. :wack:

While drifting at Santa Pod on the big track, i grabbed 4th, and what seemed to me, was that the gearstick had popped out of the box. Shit myself.

It popped back in easily at the time, so thought no biggy.

Investigating today, shows this:

What the fuck?

isnt it to do with allowing the shaft to flex a little when changing gears so it decreases wear on the box or summit? and yes is is meant to be joined together.

It's a shortshift kit. It's weird. Should I just get a tack weld stuck on the bottom to stop it from sliding off again?

Is the inside of the top section full of rubber? Gearsticks usually have two sections that are bonded together with lots of rubbery shit. Its probably just that the bottom section has worked itself free.

The top section fits perfectly over the bottom section, and there is a load of grease inside the chamber.

It made a slurp noise when i pulled it off.

My fricking car is weird.

Thats a sig quote If i've ever seen one before. :D Just whip your stick out and take it round to someone that can put a few welds round it. Maybe It comes off to make dropping the box easier?

checked mine earlier and it has a circlip holding it in

This bit isn't actually the bit that goes into the G/box though. This bit slides over the bit that is in the gearbox.

Plus, it's a short-shift kit, so it's all bolted down.

sam i like how you worded the first bit about ur gear stick lol and only you would have a gearstick held together by grease (is grease the new cable tie?)

i would just weld it back together sam oh and the rubber looks like its been leaking
