Got my nuts and bolts back from the platers, well worth having done.

If you can just make out I have welded bracing on all the alignment arm points and a brace bar across the back between the toe arms.

Progress has now taken a halt as i have just gone in to hospital for my knee ACL reconstruction.

Bought myself a nice new Tial v44, fits lovely onto the FullRace flange.
Didnt come with an outlet flange so need to source one to make up the screamer. Got to decide where to have it exit :D

OUCH! I had my ACL done a couple of years ago and it SUCKS!! Enjoy the oramorph haha

You'll be back on your feet in no time! I was driving after about 3-4 weeks... left foot braking ftw!

Cars looking great though! looking forward to seeing it finished!

Brad =)

Now that i'm back on my feet i'v been cracking into the build up.

First off was to get the car back on its feet, the rolling shell was built up.
IMG_0388.jpg

The suspension and subframes installed, all striped painted and refurbed.
I welded bracing on all the pickup point on the subframe and a tie bar between the toe rods.

Needs alignment next.

Ordered some Powered by max steering rods. May need to lengthen them to cope with the extended arms. They look like good bits of kit with the 7mm spacer built into it. Might turn some more off and run a spacer to make it up to 13mm one side. Then recentre the rack.

Interior back together, just need to run fuel lines, the std steel ones were rotten so thought it safe to replace them with braided.

Clean painted boot
IMG_0413.jpg

Took it back up home to install the engine and fab the downpipe and ic pipework. Raised the rear coilovers for clearance in and out my garage. It will be decked once its done.

Removed some of the stickers to give it more of a clean look. Gave it a bit of a polish, amazed how polish removes the marks and tidys up the used paint work.

Until another day

My feed line turned up form HEL performance (Hose Solutions) for SR block to HX35.
For anybody looking for the specs.
M12x1.25 to -4 adaptor in the block, 650mm -4 line, 90 deg bend, -4 to M12x1.5 adaptor into turbo.
I will be making a 1.5mm restrictor for the line, probably tap out the turbo adaptor and fit a grub screw drilled with a 1.5mm orifice.
Got them to cover it with some heat sleeve too.

Sloted the engine back in the other day, no box so was a piece of piss even on my own.
IMG_0424.jpg

Fitted the manifold and turbo ready for mock up of the pipe work.

Trying to collect all the bits i need, waiting on silicone elbows etc to do the inlet and IC pipework.
Picked up a nice 3" ss elbow for the downpipe, going to tack it with the mig then get it tig welded.

lovin how fresh and clean it looks

oil line looks good just like the one a had

but pirtek made mine and i used a holset mail/mail fitting into the turbo that was the restricter

how much and how soon did the hose cost to be made?

Cheers the clean up got a bit out of control but I'm glad I did it.
The line took a couple of days, should of cost £35 but I got it for a special price ;)

Got to work on the pipe work today, been waiting on all the bits from ebay etc.

As the sun was out i got cracking.
My dad was wandering round with his camera. My bother was changing his head gasket and cambelt so it was busy on the drive.

Check out the lock too :D

Ready to get tig welded. I may add some brace bracket to the engine to support it.

Got to get on with the screamer tomorrow, hope for a sunny day.

awesome build dude, you have some skills i will giv you that.

one thing tho fitting 90deg samco bend strait of the turbo wont last long before it baloons, why dont you use a small strait samco fitting off the turbo to an ally bend etc would be a much better way off doing it.

part from that it looks spot on buddy

Cheers bud,
Why would it balloon any more than any other silicone bend in the system?
Its very tight some id have to weld a alu elbow to the comp housing. Might just see how it goes but will keep an eye on it.

Been busy on the car, the little things seem to take the longest.

Only got a few pics at the mo so i'll chuck them up for now.

Welded some support bracket on to the downpipe

And made the screamer with bracket too (mounts to spare engine bolt holes)

Took them to the welder today so should be back in a few days.

Just trying to do the things to get it ready for mapping with Greg.

Had to do some swaging to my intercooler pipes. Proper rollers are mega bucks so i made my own tool.

Old mole grips, 2.5" exhaust clamp and a disc turned up on the lathe.
IMG_0458.jpg

Produces what I think is a pretty nice swage.
IMG_0460.jpg

Made a support bracket for the turbo to head.
IMG_0461.jpg

Got the fuel lines finished.
IMG_0466.jpg

IMG_0468.jpg

Relocated the PS pot
IMG_0463.jpg

Coming together now,
IMG_0462.jpg

Noticed the dip stick isn't going to work with the new manifold, yet another mod needed to make it all work.
IMG_0464.jpg

Doors on and electrics working. At last I can put the windows up and lock it.
IMG_0465.jpg

Cool build, are you going to re-sticker it ???

Not at the moment. Liking the cleaner look.

New clutch came, thankyou Competition Clutch ;)
Fitted it Saturday, but feck me its hard to get the box on with it. The engine has to touching the back on the bulk head to give it the angle to gain enough clearance in the tunnel. The clutch is quite deep so makes it tricky to get the input shaft past the cover. Dont want to be doing that to often. Shame i cant afford a rb box at the moment. :wack:

CC Stage 4 spung plate.
No pics of it going in as there was too much swearing and heavy lifting. :smash:
