awsome thread, so much respect for proper drivers putting there lifes on the line to win. cant believe racing has got so lame and boring these days compared to back then. health and safety has taken over, even though the cars are hugely safe now, the power levels are so much lower. imagine how quick cars would be these days with the same sort of power, but so much more development in suspension/braking etc.

current wrc cars are quicker than any of the group b stuff now days, with only 300hp.
so imagine how awsome they would be with equivalent power levels.

this years wrc cars have gone down in engine capacity to 1.6 turbos now.
remember when turbo f1 cars were putting out more than 1500hp in qualifying, with no driver aids at all.

just wish health and safety crap would piss off, and let racing drivers do what they do best and drive quickly. if they want to put themselves at risk, then let them.

x2, all these 'drivers coucils' where they all sit round and decide its too dangerous/they can't be arsed to race that day are gayer than hell. If some dudes don't wanna race then pull into the pits and cry, then let the dudes with balls stay out and get the glory and the pussy

where i used to work we did the bodyshell prep for the btcc primeras, shell and cages etc.

haha... love them ladas... i used to own one of the VFTS's 9 years ago, and now one of my good friends is rallying it all over lithuania...

the best part of that is that the Lada VFTS has been fully manufactured in Vilnius, my hometown in Lithuania! and i still remember a really long time ago my dad took me onto a frozen lake just a bit further out of the city, wherre it was tested...

Deliberately left my go till the end of the day, and was talking to him before about drifting and how I didnt wanna go in the GrpN Subaru they also had there as he was the only one running his anti-lag and pushing hard, so he said fuck it, end of the day, lets kill it.
Turned the diffs to maximum rear bias, anti-lag on to full, and went fucking batshit mental round rockingham infield 4 wheel smokescreen everywhere.
